Well, I thought my momma would have to update for me but I feel WONDERFUL!!!! I am up and around and following my momma everywhere. I am not sure where my leg went but I can move around much better! The surgery went well, my daddy was a little nervous about my bleeding but it turned out just fine. After it was done, my momma stayed with me all afternoon and watched me come out of the anesthesia. She bought me a new stuffed "poppy" too.

I am thankful for everyone at the clinic. Dr. Moore, the Jennifers, Amy, and my daddy for being with me all the way!! Please check out my pics!

XOXO

My daddy set the date for my sugery!! His associate will be performing the surgery on little ole me. My bum leg will be taken off this Friday, October 5th!!! I am excited (because I will be able to run faster!) but a little anxious too (good anxious). I am sick of my E-collar and I know my mom and dad are tired of bandaging my foot (I always find some way to tear it off, heehee). I am also excited that I will get more special attention from mom and dad too! I'll be sure to tell my momma to report how I am doing after the surgery.

Big XOXOXO
Scarlita

I asked my husband the question again, "when are you going to take Scarlet's leg off?"

My little Scarlita was hit by car before I even met her. She has permanent nerve damage in her front, left leg and my husband and I have been talking about removing her leg for the past nine months.

We have been putting the operation off for some time but her damaged leg needs to be removed. Scarlet continues to lick and chew on her paw (I know, sounds horrible) and we have to wrap leg, nurse it and place her "satellite dish" around her head until it heals. As soon as she receives HBO and lets her paw heal, she finds her paw again and creates another booboo. It has become more frequent within the past two months and I know it gets in her way. My husband has been reluctant to take it off but as of last week, he ordered the meds for her. Scarlet will soon be an official three legger.

I will post updates until the surgery and after her surgery. I'm nervous for her but I know it will improve her quality of life. We'll keep y'all posted!
