Arrival Story:
We already owned one basset, and we were at Mid America Basset Rescue Waddle. We were riding back from the parade in the back of a pick up and were petting him. We commented that he was the nicest dog and someone said "you know that he's up for adoption don't you?" and my husband and I looked at each other and said "not anymore he's not!" We took him to the hotel that night and took him home the next day!

Bio:
Bert is about 12 years old now. He was owned by a family until he was 7 then given up for some reason. Then he was adopted by someone else who kept him for a year and turned him back in saying that he peed on the floor every day for a year! Whatever! Now we have him and he is the nicest, most easy going dog ever. We are very lucky to be owned by him! Albert lived to be about 14 years old. He let us know on March 6, 2007 that it was time for him to go to the Rainbow Bridge.
