Happy Birthday to me!

It's my birthday. I'm 8 years old today! Arf, arf!!

My typist almost forgot. Mom had to remind her.

I'm still lively as a pup. However, I have a urinary crystal problem and I have to eat some new food that I hate. I have to take a cranberry pill every morning. Yuch!

Anyway, Happy Birthday to me and to the other 1835 Dogster dogs who have a birthday today. It was a good day to get born!

On Dogster a Year

I've been on Dogster a whole year. Happy Dogster Birthday to me!
I've made some great pals here. I have some cute pictures for them to look at.

I'm a hero!

Last night around 2 I heard a soft meow. The only meow around here comes from my brother Vinnie. I slipped downstairs to see what he wanted and he was meowing from the basement. I couldn't open the door so I started barking. I barked and barked until Mom came downstairs and let Vinnie out of the basement. He was very glad to be back upstairs and gave me a nose kiss.

Mom said I was a hero for taking care of Vinnie. How's that -- Nicki the Hero!

My Goals for 2008

My goals for this year are:
1. to be nicer to Vinnie and not so jealous when Daddy or Mom pets him.
2. not to bark in Mom's ear to get her up. She hates that.
3. to be more active in the Furry Federation. I wonder if they need a yippy, yappy, jumpy dog to scare off aliens. (?)

Visiting Chester

Last week I went to visit my sweetie Chester and his sister Sugar. We had a great time. He gave me a collar of jewels cuz he thinks I'm a pretty girl. I got so excited I did a bit of a wee on their couch. Oops.

His mom took some pictures of me in a Santa hat by their Christmas tree, but I can't show them to you cuz they're for next Christmas.

I sure do love that Chester!

Christmas Presents

I had a great Christmas -- that is after they (Mom and Daddy) DID NOT take me to the big party at Grandma's on Christmas eve. I'm too yippy, yappy and I get underfoot, they said. Ruff.

Anyway, I got a big box of biscuits and a "rubber chicken" from Auntie. I smelled those biscuits in the bag all day before I got one. I got some yummy pieces of ham from Daddy. He even dropped a little piece when he was carving it. Who says it doesn't pay a dog to hang around people when they have food?

Thankful

This is the time of the year humans and dogs, maybe cats, too, remember they are thankful and glad for the people and things they have.

I'm thankful for:

1. My Mom and Daddy who take such good care of me, feed me, cuddle me, give my own bed to sleep in, let me run the all over the house, yap like crazy and go out when I stand by the door.

2. Vinnie, who is my best pal, even though he's a cat.

3. Chester, who's my boyfriend, even though we don't see each very often. I know he loves me and I love him.

4. My doggy steps so I can run up and down from the bed without hurting my back.

5. Even I'm glad my Mom gives me a bath every week and fluffs me up so I look like a real poodle!

My Birthday

Happy Birthday to me! We celebrated my birthday last night. Chester and "sweet" Sugar sent me a cute card. Honey send me a card with her picture on it. She gave me a purple scarf for Halloween with bones and candy on it. Daddy gave me a couple of pieces of steak (yum) and mom gave me some bites of yellow cake. (more yum). Mom gave me a green froggie with a squeak in it and Daddy's been playing fetch with it for me.

Dogster gave me 25 treats and five paws on my page and a Birthday Stroll.

How old am I you ask? 7 -- the big 7! But I feel and act like a pup.

I'd like a birthday every day, but then once a year makes it special, I guess.
