My Mom was looking for a poodle after her beloved Lucy went to Doggy Heaven. She called a breeder living southwest of Cleveland, who had a sweet little poodle puppy - ME. On a Sunday she and Auntie went to see me and liked me a lot. Mom decided to take me home with her. I was happy but a bit scared. I barfed on Auntie's scarf twice on the trip home. When we got to Mom's house and Auntie put me down, I ran straight to Daddy, who was sitting in the living room. He said, "She looks like a Nicki." And that was that!

What's bio, Auntie? *** That's your life, Nicki. *** My WHOLE life? That's a lot. Well, since I came to live with Daddy and Mom I've had a good doggy life -- eating, sleeping, playing, barking, going outside to, well, you know. I loved to play with the neighbor girls who came over to our house. Daddy plays "fetch" with me. Mom cuddles me a lot, lets me sleep with her and gives me baths. Vinnie came to live with us a while ago. He was hurt real bad and I lay beside him to keep him company and gave him nose kisses. Now we play together; he's a cool cat. Last year I had something hurt in my back so I got doggy steps to get up and down from the bed. How's that? *** That's just fine, Nicki!

It's my birthday. I'm 8 years old today! Arf, arf!!
My typist almost forgot. Mom had to remind her.
I'm still lively as a pup. However, I have a urinary crystal problem and I have to eat some new food that I hate. I have to take a cranberry pill every morning. Yuch!
Anyway, Happy Birthday to me and to the other 1835 Dogster dogs who have a birthday today. It was a good day to get born!

Last night around 2 I heard a soft meow. The only meow around here comes from my brother Vinnie. I slipped downstairs to see what he wanted and he was meowing from the basement. I couldn't open the door so I started barking. I barked and barked until Mom came downstairs and let Vinnie out of the basement. He was very glad to be back upstairs and gave me a nose kiss.
Mom said I was a hero for taking care of Vinnie. How's that -- Nicki the Hero!
