FETCH! Neck scratches, fetch in the water, fetch, oh and fetch.

Nail clipping and grabbing his tail. Buela trying to steal his ball.

Favorite Toy:
Can you play fetch with it?

Favorite Food:
Ice cubes.

Favorite Walk:
Are we going to play fetch too?

Best Tricks:
Fetch. He also shakes and does high five. A rough 'roll over', spooning with the ladies. The other night, I said "come're Princess" to Corona, and Max came and no one else.

Arrival Story:
Donovan is in the USN. Another enlisted had been given orders for her ship in CA and some silly person deemed having 2 dogs and a cat on a ship a no-go. We went to her house and met them all -- Max being the calmer of the two, and thus a better fit with our rambunctious puppy and the princess, was the one we brought home with us.

He is the optimal fetch partner. He lives for the ball; even has a little dance that he does while waiting for you to throw it. Fetch is like Chinese food to Max, you can play with him until in the SC heat he has to lay down and pant for a while with his Chow-Chow fur. An hour later he'll come to you with a ball or other toy that he wants you to throw for him. At first he was cautious and shy, jumped at any command or reprimand you gave him, he even peed on the floor if you scared him(ex: cornered him or corrected him for barking in the house too loudly) too much. Now he is just a lover. His original owner, who had him from puppy hood, said he will never lick you, now he does, he will come up to you and put his head in your lap, or on the bed next to you in the morning and lick you -- just once or twice mind you -- must have learned it from Corona. Funny thing, he hates having his nails clipped (he is slowly getting used to this as we are firm believers in proper dog care), but he will lick my fingers then bite on my nails, kind of a tit-for-tat type of thing. He likes to be in the same room with us. If I go into the kitchen to wash dishes or make coffee, he'll be the entrance lying down.

Forums Motto:
Are we playing fetch yet?
