Sorry it took my mommy so long to post this. She has been very very busy trying to help Suncoast Animal League of Palm Harbor, Fl. in their fundraising efforts.
My ister is finally free after 18 months; she never ever has to go back to that horrible puppy mill lady in Tarpon Springs. It was a long, hard battle to get all her sisters, brothers and friends free but Suncoast fought hard and long and won.....however, it was at the expense of the animal rescue site and now all the mommies and daddies are trying to raise money to help.
The bottom line is: 119 doggies are free and are now living in wonderful homes!!!!!
There was one very sad note to this story though: one of my sister's friends died two days ago of a heart attack. Prudence was an adorable pomeranian and very much loved by all the staff and volunteers at Suncoast. She won her freedom but at a cost. We will all miss her dearly!!!

Boy, did Mommy smell like puppies this week!!!

Mommy came home Wednesday night smelling of puppies! She was so excited..Suncoast Animal League took 28 dogs from a rescue organization called "Angel Rescue" in Georgetown, Ga. The doggies didn't stand a chance unless we came to help. There were all sorts of puppies; some only 9 weeks old and some as young as 3 weeks. Most of the puppies had been living under an abandoned home before they were rescued. Mommy said there were 8 older dogs that were so loving and sweet---Mom fell in love instantly with the two Aussies that came but I reminded her: You are only allowed 2 doggies where you live and that would be ME and SHAMUS!!! Not that I would mind some more pups to play with.......
Suncoast had such a wonderful adoption rate that I think a lot of pups are going to find their furever homes really soon and I am very happy for them. My Mommy says that poor Angel Rescue needs a lot of help as they are in a rural area of the country and there are strays on every corner..there isn't much my mom can do but will try and send a few dollars their way. Bless the two ladies that run the shelter!!! Bless Suncoast for helping because 'LOVE KNOWS NO BORDERS" and we have a better chance at getting the babies a good life here. Mommy wants to win the lottery and take them all!!! geez...........

A success!!!

On September 20th, it was National Puppy Mill Awareness Day and Mommy said it went really really well. They had a lot of people come and 99.9% of the people signed the petition to enforce stricter laws for animal welfare. They will be passing these signatures on to our local legislators and, hopefully, we can get some action!!!
Mommy says that she is still tired but happy....we have all the posters here at home and Mommy hopes that we won't have to use them next year; here's hoping we make some changes!!!!!!!! To all the people that stopped by and care, a big wet kiss and thank you!!!!

Mommy is feeling guilty

Mommy says that some people might read my diary today and she is feeling very guilty that my brother, Shamus, has no diary entries. She says it is because I am more articulate than he is (don't know what that means) but then again, she sometimes calls him "Blondie" and I don't get that either!
Shamus came home one day with Mommy out of the blue. I was feeling so lonely without my sister, Casey and Mommy went to look in the shelter and.....along came Shamey. I love him dearly and so does my Mom. Once in awhile though, Mom has a private conversation with me and she says, "Paddy, if there is ever any trouble in the house while Mommy is away, make sure your brother follows you and gets out"...once again, not too clear on what she is inferring....I will say that my bro is a goofball but we adore him!!!!

Puppy Mill Awareness Day

In two days, my Mommy goes into action. She has been working hard to get all of her posters done for Puppy Mill Awareness Day. I feel really bad for her as she has been so upset with all the pictures and information she has gathered on those horrible places! Mommy says that she won't stop until all the puppy mills are shut down. She implores dogster people who live in the puppy mill areas (i.e. Nebraska and Missouri) to do something to help. Pennsylvania managed (bless them) to pass a new law and that is what we hope you all may be able to do in your respective states. If you are not completely aware of the conditions in these facilities, check out some of the websites like prisoners of greed, HOWEVER, if you want to sleep at night DON'T DO IT. My Mommy is tortured by what she has seen but she won't give up the fight ever!!!!!

China the sweet, adorable, 3-legged sheltie mix has been adopted by a canine officer...the interesting thing about that is that China fell in love with the new owner on sight; she always seemed to be afraid of men until now. I know that the officer has gotten one of the most wonderful companions he could ever hope for!!! Best of luck to China; I will miss her.....
PS There are so many wonderful animals for adoption so ADOPT DON'T SHOP!!!!

Mommy is in love with another dog at the shelter!!

Okay, she did it again. She went to volunteer at Suncoast Animal League and fell in love with another dog there. She can't bring her home though as much as we would all love to meet her.
He name is China and she is a sheltie mix that was rescued from a shelter in Georgia. She was unable to move one of her legs when she arrived, and, when checked by a vet, it was discovered that both legs had been broken and never fixed. Unfortunately, one leg had to be amputated as it was so badly crushed. She is a sweetheart though and loves all the other dogs in the shelter as well as the kitties! She is very timid around men and very afraid of them. She needs to find a good home and lots of love and understanding. China, with a little help, would probably be an outstanding animal companion for anyone!
She is adorable and so sweet............

For my friend, Cinnamon and all her pals; Imagine this if- you can

You are living in a cage; small crowded space. You have been there your entire life. You have neve been outside; you have no concept of the world except for your imprisonment.
You have no place to relieve yourself except for that cage; neither does anyone else. It smells rotten in there but you have no other choice. The food comes and you fight to get some but when you start to chew, it hurts because your teeth are rotting. You give up; you go lay down if you can find room. You try and sleep on your side but that is agony because of the lumps on your right side. You try and lay on your left but it makes your painful ear worse.
You have it bad but others have it worse. The two-year old female next to you can barely walk with her bloody paws. The one next to her can't breathe from a collapsed trachea. Is this what life is really like? Do you want to exist anymore.
Can you imagine living like this????
One day you wake up and these people come. You are really scared and become more frightened when they start to take you away. You can't help wondering if you are going to another place as bad as the one you are leaving.
You arrive at your new destination. They speak softly to you as they bathe the horrible smells away. They give you your own bowl of food and it is soft so that you can eat it. They tend to your hurts. They take you outside to this wonderful place and you sniff the grass for the first time. You want to thank them but you are still scared. You approach and they touch you lovingly. God, this is wonderful, you think. You slink up to the first person and she whispers "good dog". You don't really know what that means but the tone of her voice is so pleasing. You lick her hand and she begins to cry. I think she knows what you have endured. You are lucky you have survived.
IMAGINE LIVING LIKE THIS???? Imagine this as if it were your life and tell me truthfully if you can ever let this happen again.
STOP THE FLORIDA PUPPY MILL BREEDER NOW....Stop Theresita Hughes from getting these 121 puppies back; they deserve so much better!!!

3 things I did for animals today

Hi:
I got tagged by my friend, Bodie and I have to list 3 things that I have done today for animals so, here it goes:

(1) I ignored the ducks when I went for my walk even though I had to go around them since they hang out for food my mommy gives them. It wasn't easy getting passed them all!!! My brother, Shamus, didn't do so well though.

(2) My Mommy got called by the suncoast animal league to go help the puppies that were rescued from the puppy mill in Tarpon Springs, Florida. I hate when she leaves us, but I understand that these puppies need a lot of love.

(3) Oops, let me think......I let my brother, Shamus steal some food from my dish (does that count???). For some odd reason, he would rather eat my food than his own and we both have the SAME food but I didn't make a fuss.

Missing Blue

Hi:
My name is Paddy Boy (I was born on St. Pat's day) and I am a good pup that happily lives with my Mommy and my brother, Shamus. When I first came home, I had my sister, Casey who I really loved. My sister is now on the Rainbow Bridge with her adored brother, Max and I missed her so much that Mommy brought home Shamus. I love all pups and am particularly friendly and that is why I am writing this. There is a fellow dogster named Blue that has gone missing and I want to do everything I can to help guide him home. I ask that all fellow dogsters read Blue's profile and pass on the information. Those who live in Blue's area can tell friends and neighbors and they can be on the look out for our Blue. We all want him home safe and sound.
Love to Blue's family and we are rooting for you!!!!
