Arrival Story:
Jesse was a stray picked up by Animal Control in Merced, California. He waited at the shelter there for 3 weeks and no one claimed or adopted him. On his last day Catahoula Rescue Inc. stepped up and saved his life. I am his foster mom.

Jesse was named by the animal pound staff. They name all their animals after celebrities. The real Jesse Owens was an African American runner who won gold medals in the 1936 Berlin olympics. Take that, Hitler. :-) Jesse has a wonderful couple interested in adopting him.

More Bio:
Jesse looks very much like a purebred Catahoula, but his personality is more like a Golden Retriever! He looks so much like a Catahoula, we aren't sure what he's mixed with. Whatever he is, he is one friendly, affectionate boy.

I just got back from dropping Jesse off at his adopter's home. He was adopted by a nice, active senior couple who can spend lots of time with him and give him lots of walks. He will share his home with an orange tabby cat. It is a great home for Jesse. Although I am thrilled, I am really going to miss this boy. He is a wonderful, amazing dog who loves people.

Thanks to all of you who support rescue and save the lives of dogs like Jesse.
