sick

Been sick for a few weeks. Almost went to the bridge but we are trying. Arthritis acting up and got bleeding ulcers. Mom hopes they can help me. I am having a hard time keeping food down. Hope to get well soon

what a difference a year makes

It has been a year and 2 months since my acl surgery and i am running and getting around great!!!!!!!! I am acting like a pup again. The Dr is real happy with how strong my leg is. Thanks mo for all the walks that helped my muscles.

Well I refuse to use the steps mom got me to get in bed. Mom is still sleeping on the floor with me. Mom talked to the vet and the vet said I should never be allowed to jump. Mom just don't know what to do so she can sleep in the bed. if she is not by me I carry on all night. Mom is going to make a ramp out of wood with carpet and will try to get me to use that. I hope I like it

fur

Well most of my fur has grown back you can hardly tell where I was shaved for surgery. Mom can tell I am getting better. I am getting more stable on uncarpeted surfaces. Mom will still have to keep all the area rugs down on the kitchen and wood floors for a while still. Mom wants to be careful so I don't get hurt. Soon I will be able to get in the human bed again! Mom is looking at different building plans for steps and ramps so I can get in bed and in her SUV. The ones at the store are expensive so I am waiting for the homemade ones. That is ok mom still sleeps with me on the family room floor. This way daddy can get rest to make milkbone money. I am now able to walk around an entire block! A younger dog could go farther but mom and the vet agree not to rush it since I do have arthritis in my hip. Now if I would get well enough to go walk in the woods but I guess that will be next spring. Oh how I miss sniffing out all the critters.

vets

I just got back from the vets. I was shaking like crazy. It never bothered me in the past but that surgery and hospital stay made me not like that place. Well the Dr. said I am recovering but that it is healing slow. But not to worry, this is probably due to my age. I can almost walk an entire block which is not where I should be but due to my arthritis it slows my progress. The Dr did say it is healing nice just slow. Mom has to take me back in late october to have my leg checked again. So I still will have to stay on a leash when I go out no free roaming. The Dr did tell Mom it would be ok to buy me a ramp so I can get into the SUV and her bed. Mom will be glad to stop sleeping on the floor every night with me. Now we just have to shop and figure out what is a good ramp. Time to rest I am tired from all the excitement today.

BIRTHDAY

Today is my birthday and I gots lots of cool stuff. I got new nylabones!! Some of the edible ones too. Mom made me a hamburger cake! Got to take a walk in between rain showers. It is so nice to be able to walk.

We sure are getting lots of rain her but we needed it. Wish I could lay in the grass but that will have to wait. I am getting better no more sedatives!! I still have a limp but I guess I will have to live with that. I still have to be on a leash when I go out but mom lets me give the area a good sniff.

Still trying

Well I am still trying to get better. Mom takes me for short walks each day only for about 5 minutes. If I didn't have arthritis we could go longer. But if we go more then I am sore for the night. The Dr. tells mom it is ok that we are not up to the 20 min walk since I have this other issue and not to push it. It is best to go slow. I stopped trying to run after critter. now I just growl at them when they get near MY YARD. I know mom will not let me run. I no longer get sedated to keep myself calm. Mom tells me I am a GOOD GIRL!!

deer

Today mo took me out on my leash in the back yard. I saw 2 fawns on the other side of the fence. I was good and did not try to run or jump( since I could hurt myself). However, I did stand there and I barked & barked and let out some mean growls. Boy did those fawns run. Guess they know my territory now! Hope they learned not to come on my side of the fence.

We also had rain today!! Not enough to get my grass green and soft but it is nice not to have it so hot out.
