Silly Sasha's Excellent Adventures

Sasha Has Left Us

Three days ago Sasha attacked Alli when Alli was having a seizure and damaged her severely. Alli has been to the hospital and is back home and recovering. I had Sasha put down yesterday so I could bring Alli safely home. I buried Sasha today beside a beautiful blooming bush. I am missing her so!

May 2010 Update

We have had some success with Dogster updating on Firefox with the help of Dogster folks - thanks much - while the main photo still doesn't work Sasha's other photos are there which is nice (you have to go to her photo page).

Sasha is still well and is being top dog in a very responsible manner. Brandy has been added to our bunch and Sasha is very kind to her since she is blind. Sasha and Alli are best friends and play well together. The two of them are allowed outside the yard to run around the edge of my property (it has field fencing so they can't get out). Sasha has finally gotten old enough she cannot sail over the fence and run away so she enjoys Alli's company in a morning run around and then they come back to the house and play fight and play with toys until they are both worn out.

Sasha is getting old and not eating real well but in a way it is good as she needed to lose some weight - she is looking great right now and seems quite healthy enough!

Sasha Is Still Here

Thought I had better update Sasha since I was talking about putting her down in the last entries. Had got so far as to nearly have her grave dug but just couldn't do the deed. Her only crime was wanting to be with me to the point that she would do anything to escape and follow me away from the house. My final trick was to put bales of straw around the base of the house. Of course after a few weeks she managed to chew through one and off she went again. So now I have the straw bales backed up by wooden barriers behind them and they are holding up pretty well. We'll see how long that lasts!

Sasha and Brandy have made a good peace - they just stay away from each other which is fine. Brandy and Alli are house dogs and Sasha and Patches are outdoor dogs. Very, very few nights are cold enough here that Sasha and Patches ask to come in so we get along fine. All four dogs stay outside together when I am away from home for errands and so far no one is the worse for wear!
