Arrival Story: When Duke was 2 months old in Sept of 1993, he belonged to our next door neighbor and my mom (7 months pregnant with me) fell head over heels with him and because his owner was never home, my mom BEGGED him that if he ever decided he didn't want Duke - she wanted him. 2 weeks later, we had a knock on the door asking if we still wanted Duke. That was one awesome day! Duke was my first belly laugh when I was a baby and we were inseparable ever since and grew up together. Everyone said he was an ACD but my mom didn't think so because he had no tan on him anywhere and no tail. She did some research with a lady in Australia and found out that Duke was illegally imported to the US back in 1993. She found out that there were only 11 Stumpies in the US back in 1993 and most of them were illegally imported. Anyways, Duke went over the Rainbow Bridge on October 27th, 2006 and I miss him so much! I couldn't have asked for a better dog or best friend!
