Apollo's story.

Friends, APOLLO, is in the Cincinnati Area, His owner moved out of state, leaving him in his aged mothers yard. She is 83, just suffered a stroke, and is begging for help to place this little boy. I built him a large dog house in her secure yard and four times a day I go over to feed and spend time with him. I know that you, like me, are already fully committed to animal rescue, and yet I would ask you, please, to do what you can to help find young Apollo a forever home. Apollo is a 12-month old neutered male boxer/mastiff cross. He weighs 70lbs and is up-to-date with his shots. He loves people which is a shame as, abandoned by his owner, he mostly lives all alone in a yard. He is house-trained and good with other dogs (loves to visit the local dog park). He is a little too frisky with cats but he shows no malice or aggression to anything or anyone. Loves children but would be too exuberant for very young kids. This loving boy would do well in a relationship with a young and active person preferably with a pickup truck. I know you are busy but if you could cross-post this and post locally, then both Apollo and I would be so grateful. If you cant, then accept our thanks anyway, and go with God.

Got this email from Apollo's foster dad today:

APOLLO HAS A HOME! Sent: Sat Jun 30

I recieved this email from his foster dad today!

I make it a rule not to just to leave a dog with people I’ve just met. I prefer them to spend some time thinking about whether they want the new little one.

In this case, I broke my own rule.

Thanks to YOUR efforts, four families were interested in this boy and I took him to the first this afternoon. The family had a young dog who was pining after his companion died, and the two dogs just hit it off right away – running and playing like mad in a huge yard next to a lake and 20 acres of land.

Pausing for a break, Apollo crawled half onto the woman’s lap and the immediate mutual affection was tangible.

Anne and I knew immediately that he would love this place and this family.

Sure enough, as I left he was cuddling with his new Dad and he didn’t even look up.

So God bless you, for your charity and kindness of heart – and rejoice with us that this little one has found a place of happiness.

YOU made it happen!

Now abideth faith, hope & love – but the greatest of these is love.

YOU prove that is so.
