Arrival Story: My mommy didn't originally want a mini me. She was looking for Pomeranian's - pretty fru fru if you ask me! But while she searched, she didn't find any of the fluffy dogs that really interested her, so my daddy told her to look at some Dachshunds. She scoffed at the idea, but looked anyway. She didn't see any in her state that she liked, so daddy suggested expanding the search to Ohio, and then she found ME! Not to toot my own horn or anything, but i'm pretty darn cute, a looker they say. I'm a double dapple mini, and i've got blue eyes instead of the standard icky brown ones. So that was it for her, she just had to have me. They contacted my foster mommy (the breeder) and made a date to come out and meet me. Of course, it was love at first sight, and I went home with them that day. 6 hours in the car with my new family. I'm so happy they drove all that way to get me!

So we're into day 3 with being with daddy all day! Mommy is home today as well, since it is the 4th, but it's been me and daddy all day hanging out together! Woo Hoo! Normally when mom and dad go to work, they crate me because i'm still so little and i tend to be a nebnose. Which means I will get myself into trouble. I don't like being crated, so it's really awesome that I didn't really have to be in it at all this week. I've been outside playing, and daddy and I take naps, or he just holds me on his lap while he does something called 'surf the internet'.
Yesterday my family took me to their friends house to watch fireworks - the boom noise scared me a bit, but I really liked looking up and seeing the lights from the booms. I don't know what is on the agenda for tomorrow, but I know it won't be in my crate!!!
Time for a nap. Thanks for reading!

So today my mommy and Aunt Jackie took me over to my great grammies swimming pool. Let me tell you, this thing is HUGE! But I was pretty excited about it while mommy and auntie were cleaning it up.
While auntie got in, mommy had her camera ready and put me in the water. Brrr! It was a little chilly, but man, I was a fabulous swimmer!!! I got my ears wet, which I wasn't really a fan of, but I did a couple laps around auntie then went to the edge so mommy could let me out.
For the next 20 minutes, I was a COMPLETE spaz about getting myself dry. I think I cleaned great grammies porch off pretty good with my wet body.
I wasn't scared of the water, so I kept hanging out near the edge of the pool. I wasn't brave enough to just jump in, but mommy did hold me while she just walked around. I can't wait for the next nice, sunny day when I can do a couple more laps and then sit in the sun poolside. What a day!
