A Dog's Life During House Cleaning Time!

Well, this week has been a rough one on us Pets here. Momma has decided to do a major house cleaning. She calls it "Spring Cleaning" but it is in the middle of the Summer, now. We don't know what she is thinking! She is going from room to room, pitching everything out that she says is junk and garbage! Emptying closets of old clothes that she can't wear anymore. It's her own fault....she shouldn't have eaten so much over the years....then the clothes would still fit her. All the old clothes are going to the Viet Nam Vets Clothing Drive. Nothing is safe around here....all our old comfortable things are history! All us Pets are in hiding and so is Poppa. We are not sure if it is safe to be seen....maybe we will be the next thing that gets pitched out around here! I will be glad when this "house cleaning " phase in our lives is over, so we can have peace and quite, and lots of play time, again. This is a warning to other Pets out there, when your Momma starts cleaning....run and hide....especially if you hear the floor monster making a loud roaring noise! It may suck you inside, like all the other stuff it finds on the floor. Beware!

Summertime

Hey, it's me, Keesie, again! We are having a hot summer here in Kentucky. I am not liking it very much because I have so much fur! A double coat, Momma says, and I have to be brushed a lot! I have been staying inside the house in the A.C. most of the summer, so far, except for my potty breaks and exercise running in the yard. We had a little rain today, twice, actually, for the first time in weeks. The grass is drying out and turning brown, which is not good for the Kentucky image of Kentucky BLUEGRASS! It also is not so comfortable on the paws when it is stiff and dry like this! So I will just stay inside and let my crazy dog bro and sis stay out in the heat, if that is what they want to do. I am the smart one in this dog family, anyway....the oldest and the wisest! Well, that's about all for today. I will be back soon with more interesting facts about my wonderful life!

Momma's Pet

My name is Keesie and I am an eleven and a half years old Keeshond. I am Momma's Pet, her girl! I have never been to a dog show or had puppies or anything like that. I am not a show dog, although I am very beautiful. I had a brother Keeshond named Benji, who was one year younger than me, but he was never very healthy and he was the runt of the litter, so he never got nearly as big as me. Momma did everything she could for Benji, but finally he just gave up. Now he is over the Rainbow Bridge with all the other pets that passed on. He is happy and not sickly anymore.
I have other pet siblings too, but they are rescue pets, not really my blood brothers and sisters. There is a mixed breed shepherd named Sam and a mixed up mutt named Sophie, who is a GREAT watch dog. She won't let anybody inside the house, unless Momma says it is okay. I have a Beautiful Flamepoint Himalayan brother named B.J., and an outside cat named Little Bit, too. I used to have a rabbit brother named Bunny (Momma ran out of names, I think) but he is over the Rainbow Bridge, too. I also live with my Poppa who has Alzheimers and who really loves us pets a lot. Momma said we pets are what keeps Poppa hanging in there! Well I guess that is all for today, I just wanted to introduce myself and tell you about my family. I will be back in a few days with more about me.
