Arrival Story:
Gretchen is my foster pup. She was rescued from the pound by a kind person who plans to foster her for Animal Rescue Foundation of LA. However right after she took this baby she had a death in her family and needed to go out of town for a few days. She had already made a commitment to go out of town later this month also. I volunteered to take her and care for her until she goes back with the first person OR to keep her until she has a forever home. So I at this point don't know how long she will be her. I know she is BEAUTIFUL, sweet and so very loving. She likes my other foster (Heidi a Doxie mix) and my 2 Boston Terriers. She likes my husband too. ARF will make sure she has a perfect home. It is a pleasure to have her as part of our family.

Bio:
Gretchen has been refered to as "Stretch" up to the day I got her. I don't feel it fits her. I feel she should have a pretty, German name to match her pretty little body and personality. I like the name Gretchen and have decided to call her that. She is so soft. Her hair is like silk!

Gretchen was adopted!

Today the people who were doing a foster to adopt, decided to sign the papers and make Gretchen a furever part of their family. I was not surprised because she is just so sweet and cute as can be. She is getting along great with her new sibblings and the 2 yr old Doxie is her playmate. She sleeps in the people bed with her new family and she is a lucky little Doxie. It was good to see her and to hold her and give her cuddles. She remembered me and I reminded her family that I will take her back if they want her to leave. :) HaHa No way that is going to happen. I'd bet my last dollar on that. LOL Have a long and happy life sweet Gretchen. God and Missy will be watching out over you.

Sweet Gretchen

I recieved a call that the perfect people want Gretchen as part of their family. They have 2 Doxies already and are awesome pet parents. It was such a mixed feeling I had. I want Gretchen to have a furever home not be in foster care for any long length of time so this was good. I want her to have a family of her own that will love her as much as we love out furbabies. They are that kind of family. Still in the short time I had her I had become very attached to her and she to me. They say they like the name Gretchen and will keep that name for her. :) She had been in like 4 homes in 3 days so she was scared and confused and needed constant reassurance that she was OK. I did that for her and enjoyed every minute if it. I fell in love with her and it was very hard to hand her over to someone I don't know. The people have been screened and approved so I do know they are right for Gretchen. I just feel so lost today without her. Being a foster is not an easy job. Not when you have a Gretchen!
Well who knows? Maybe they will decide she is not right for them and return her by the end of the 7 day trial period. HA! Not much chance of that. If they do though I will run to get her and this one I don't think I could give up a second time.

Have a happy life sweet baby Gretchen. God bless you and watch over you the rest of your life.

Vitamins?

Well bright and early this AM my foster Mom took me out to potty, gave me breakfast and some Benadryl for my allergies and some other stuff. She said it's called vitamins. It tasted really good. Bella, Buddy and Heidi got some too and they gobbled it down. She said it is good for my body and she wants me to get all strong for my spay surgery in July.

I heard My Foster Mom talking to my First Foster Mom this morning. She said she was so sorry and she knew the funeral would be very hard for her. Funeral? It must be something real sad cause her voice was sad on the phone thing.

I think I heard that someone wants to adopt me and give me a Furever home. My Foster Mom said they have to check the humans out first to make sure they will be very good to me and that I will NEVER end up at the pound again. I also have to be spayed FIRST. My little life is pretty complicated but I am loved and have good care so I know it will work out good for me.

Oh Boy! Time for a walk! Gotta go.
