Bio:
Please consider adding Koli to your family. She's been in foster care for three years and still hasn't been adopted. She'd like a friend to play with, but cats might be too tempting to turn into chew toys. - - She has wonderful house manners, doesn't pull hard on walks, and loves attention. She still has plenty of energy to go around, but is passive if you need some quiet time. - - [Dec 09: It was requested that we add WHY she is up for adoption. She was rescued from the pound with the sole purpose of adopting her out. We already have our own dogs, and want to save more from the pound to adopt out.]

She Will Be Missed by Many

It is with a heavy heart that I (Foster Lady) I inform you that Koli now runs the Frozen Tundra of the Great Beyond.

In June she went into renal (kidney) failure. We did what we could to save her; but by the time we knew, it was too late. July 20th we said goodbye.

I'll be keeping this account active as a memorial in her memory. She was loved by many and it has been heart-wrenching witnessing so many broken hearts.

On a fortune cookie the day after I asked for people to send her warm loving energy: "Love is a warm fire to keep the soul warm."

It's not the best song I thought of, or the first; but it is the only one that has stuck in my head/remember thinking of. The week after she went, I played "Leave Out All the Rest" by Linkin Park

Thank you everyone for your support over the years,
"F.L." a.k.a T.A.K.

---------------

There were many things that could have lead to her going into renal failure; however the most likely culprit is the Proin we had her on. For the past few years she took it willingly, then in her last three months she had started to refuse it. I found several veterinary (and medical) articles from back around 1982 where studies were done when people and pets were turning up with renal failure. It was pulled off the market back then for use in humans.

I had a gut feeling something was wrong and should have pressed to get bloodwork done sooner. I waited too long after the vet said she seemed fine. This is the second time that I used my head instead of my intuition. It's a hard lesson to face, but one that hopefully sank in this time. Listen to gut, advocate *fiercely* for the animal, and if need be get a second opinion (though in this case the later didn't apply.)

---

I'm still amazed and in awe at how many people showed up to say goodbye to her. How many people said prayers for her, how many people were constantly asking for updates. The tears shed, the hugs needed. Men, grown men showing up to see her were in tears unabashedly. She was loved and cherished by so many. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of you that cared about her.

I wish all foster dogs could receive the support that Koli received. My last wish if you never glance upon her page again, is that you keep her in your memory and give other animals and children needing homes as much love and support.

If anyone has the picture of the Chinese Crested in the blue pajamas or has any inforrmation about that dog, my human would really like it if you could share.

She's been in such a clicking frenzy hoping to win one of those gift cards to Petsmart so that she can buy me more nice things, that she didn't even think to save the image for later viewing.

She gets such a big smile every time she sees that dog. Thank you in advance for any help.

Woo Roo roo! Princess Koli *tail wags*

I'm worn and tired so most of this will be copy and pasted from the other sites.

4/27/09 Update: She gave me peanuts! Yum! All I had to do to get them was watch her give them to the squirrel. EASY! She was giving more to the squirrel though so I tried to go and take my share. She called me away from the buffet. I thought she had more for me; I feel tricked. I only got two more.
If you want to read Foster Lady's side of the story you can read it here: http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/adopt_koli/message/47

Oh yes, please let me meet your cats. They'd be so much fun to chew... I mean chase. ~tail wags~

*ha'ruff* Foster lady is sick again, so no walks or bike rides. I'm bored!!! She tries to give me things to do but the games only last for a few minutes at a time.

We have to find a new home for our main ad (the one on Petfinder.) The group hosting it for us no longer will be able to. For details go here: http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/adopt_koli/message/48 . If they're not the details you were looking for, I'm probably just as clueless as you are.
