Quick Bio:
-purebred-pound dog-dog rescue

Birthday:
August 8th 2002

Likes:
Running, playing ball, romping with her doggy housemates, chasing rabbits (and squirrels and birds), giving kisses.

Pet-Peeves:
Thunderstorms!

Favorite Toy:
Tennis ball. She has several Orbee Balls from Planet Dog, but she seems to prefer the dirty old faded tennis ball over all the others.

Favorite Food:
She has a great appetite and will get just as excited about her "regular" dog food as she does for dog treats.

Favorite Walk:
Around the neighborhood to Dougie the Coonhound's house!

Arrival Story:
*UPDATE: Bella was adopted through GSP Rescue in January of 2007* Bella was found as a stray in rural KY. She landed at a great shelter, and the staff took good care of her. However, they were VERY overcrowded, and Bella's time was running out. I am the national volunteer coordinator for German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue, so I decided Bella would just have to come to live with us until she found a forever home.

Bio:
As of 6/15, Bella has been in her foster home for two weeks. She has been a joy to get to know. She loves to play with her "brothers and sisters" and has even gotten to the point where she doesn't think the cat is a tasty snack. She'll walk by the cat and ignore him now. Believe me, this wasn't easy!! Bella is making progress with her housebreaking (I think she used to be an outside dog). She goes to the door...she just hasn't figured out how to signal me yet. Only a few small accidents have occurred, right by the door. She'll get it down pat in no time. Bella has been spayed and is up-to-date on her vaccines. She is on monthly Heartworm preventative and Frontline. Bella is an energetic, amazing little girl. She does need a home that can provide her with A LOT of daily exercise (runs in the yard and VERY long walks/runs). She will jump a 5 ft fence, and has shown interest in trying to jump our 6 ft. fence. I have invisible fence around the perimeter, so I have started training her to that. She has been a very quick learner, and should be invisible fence trained within the week. Ideally, Bella would do best in a breed experienced home. However, a family with sporting (or very active) dog experience would probably not flinch at her very active, "on-the-go" personality. If you're looking for a couch potato of a dog, Bella is definitely NOT the dog for you. But, she does love to cuddle on the couch after a day full of fun and adequate exercise.
