I actually had a very trying day yesterday It really started on Saturday evening when Mom felt a lump on my chest
Now, my Mom is usually pretty cool about things BUT this really made Mom nervous. When Mom came home from work on Sunday, she kept feeling my chest and my body and was acting kinda strange.
Monday morning, I woke up and Mom was busy around the house and said to me "would you like to go for a car ride"? Well, I never turn down an offer like that so I went for a nice walk with her and then hopped in the car with Mom and Dad. We drove a while and then stopped by the Dr.'s Office ---well, I thought maybe they were just picking up something for me but when Dad insisted that I get out with him I knew somethin' was up. So, I went inside and all the Ladies in there were making a fuss over me and were supplying me with delicious treats Then I went into the examining room and checked out the scale ---I don't like the scale cause I am a little chunky !!! Then Dr. Smith came in and started checking me out---aaagghhh---my tempertaure was taken , my heart checked, my eyes checked and then he started feeling those lumps that Mom found. All the sudden, he came towards me with a small needle and said "this won't hurt MacKenzie" and he was right--it didn't Then he got another needle and did somethin' with the other lump. He said he would call Mom and Dad by the end of the day with results . All the sudden the Ladies came and in gave me MORE treats and Hugs .
We got back in the car and then went to the Holistic Doggie Store and I got some treats and my special food. Then it was back home and some needed rest and relaxation.
I was sleeping so very sound when the phone rang---I heard Mom talking and saying something about Dr. Smith. Then Mom ran to me and huggged me and then hugged me some more and said "MacKenzie--you're going to be fine --you have fatty lumps". Oh Mom----Fatty Lumps----that's fine ???? Well, I later heard her explaining to one of her Friends about the various conditions that I might have had so I guess Fatty Lumps is pretty good
So that was my day yesterday----guess what---I'm still TIRED today
Today started out as any day does. I heard my Mom and Dad get up out of bed and I immediately turned over to snooze some more ! Poor Dad---has to wake up to go to work---Uggghhhh!
Everything was as the schedule usually is---Mom showers, goes to make coffee, talks to my featherBrother, goes out to retrieve the newspaper and then waits to talk to Dad. All the sudden, Mom walks calmly into the bedroom and whispers to Dad---please help me there's a baby bird in the house--he flew in when I opened the front door. My ears perked up---WHAT---a BIRD in my house---one featherBrother is enough ! Dad quietly closed the bedroom door---hey--I want to be a member of the Birdie Patrol ! I hear Dad say open all the doors--then I hear Dad say----don't let him slam into the sliding doors---hey-what's going on out there? I hear my featherBrother talking loud----this doesn't sound pretty! Then I hear voices on the lanai and I jam my head between the bedroom vertical blinds . Poor Dad is trying to capture the baby and Mom is opening all the doors out there. I saw the baby birdie---sooooo cute. Dad was being so careful not to injure him and the baby just kept flying around and around. Finally, he fly down low and --wait--he must of saw the open door and off he went ! He flew into the preserve behind our house----and I saw it all!!!! I heard a lot of birds chirping so maybe his Mom and Dad were waiting for him . Wow----good job Mom and Dad !! So, I was finally let out of the bedroom and boy is my featherBrother talking a lot----guess he doesn't want to share his home with anyone but me !
So now I am on birdie watch----but first I need a nap !!!!
Well, today started out as my days usually do. I lounged around a bit, took a nice walk and then decided it was pool time ! Mom and Dad did a lot of gardening (actually I think it was weeding) and then decided it was time for a dip in the pool. Mom and Dad were swimming around and all the sudden---what do I see in the corner of the lanai?
Hummmm----this was a really big lizard so I thought I would take a closer look. Wow---what a creature this was---nothing like the lizards I usually chase. It started moving and slithering ,more slithering -----oops----I think this might be a snake
So, I decided I would start jumping at this slithering thing and play a little. All the sudden I hear-----MacKenzie---it was Dad and his voice was low and clear ! I knew he meant business and maybe there was a little panic in his voice. So, I backed up and then Dad scooped me up and screamed at my Mom----SNAKE !!!! Now, Mom doesn't like snakes but she was brave and ran out of the pool and took me from Dad. Then my Dad got the pool pole and pushed that slithering snake out to the preserve behind my house. Whew---that was real close ---I only wanted to play a little but Dad got nervous.
Mom made me go indoors and told me that the snake was not a play toy even though it was a black snake and didn't have poison fangs.
So, now Mom is scared to let me out by the pool by myself. And where is Dad ? Well, he's out there checking to see where and how that snake slithered into my lanai----maybe there is a gap under the door or ????.
So that was my day here in sunny Florida:
