I miss my sissy

My 13-year-old sister was put to sleep last night. Kidney failure. The parents have been sobbing for 22 hours now. And I awoke alone and afraid last night. I have been doing whatever Maya has been doing since they brought me home, and now I am sisterless. I'm only a pup, and I miss her guidance and security. I wailed last night -- made the strangest noises and felt empty. The parents brought me on the bed and we slept, restless, in a big ball.

How do I get through this? Should I hope for a puppy in the near future? Or wait. Anyone?!?
