Arrival Story:
I went to North Shore Animal League thinking that I might want a dog. There were dozens of pretty black labs, but I couldn't tell them apart. Then they brought Sophie out from the infirmary (yes, she was sick) and, with her tan, white and black face, she immediately caught my eye. I held her and that was it. 30 minutes later, we were on the LIRR back to NYC. She was so sickly that I thought we may just have a few hours together. Not the case!
