Yippee - I'm 11 months old today! Mommie was a little sad...I guess she thinks I should stay little forever. I had a fun day. Played with my pup pals at Barking Hound Village, smooched my girlfriend, and loved on my teachers. Then I came home and had special pork treats and curled up in front of the TV.

Yeaaaa - I graduated from my PetSmart Beginner's Class yesterday!!! Mommie was so proud of me - everyone said I should be valedictorian (whatever that means). She even got a picture of me wearing that crazy cap. I didn't really like wearing it that much, but I looked cute (see my picture at the bottom). Now, I'm ready for the big dogs :)

Dogs and Dames Day Out 3 - Yippeee Saturday!!!

What an awesome Saturday its been! Mommie and I slept in late because she stayed out so late at the VA Highlands Octoberfest...we then got ready with my schoolbag and went to my Second Obedience Class at the Midtown PetSmart. My pal Dude was there along with a new doggie named Freda. My teacher Ms. Rebecca was there and the class was real good. We learned to pay attention when our named is called, to walk without pulling (something I like to do a lot!) and pay attention for a certain period of time. Whew! I was good in the class so I got lots of treats. Afterwards, mommie bought me some new ball toys and we left to go to Piedmont Dog Park.

This was the best fall day in Atlanta....we got to the dog park for "Dogs and Dames Day Out 3". This time my friends Bella and her mommie Ms. Tara, Val and his mommie Ms. Carla and Salem and her mommie Aunt Mitzi were there. We played lots and I got to run around without my leash - YEAAA! Afterwards we walked over to Park Tavern where our mommies good have lunch. It was very nice - they talk alot! Then, my mommie and her friends surprised all of us with a very special treat called a "Lick-A-Lot". Its a yummy yogurt popsicle....paw lickin good :)

I can't wait till we get to do this again - I wish everyday was Saturday so I could play with mommie and her friends.

Props to my Barking Hound Teachers!

Want to send some puppy lick and love to my cool teachers at BHV 14th Street!!! I love coming in and seeing Ms. Kathy, Mr. Zeb, Ms. Marjan and Mr. Steve. They along with Ms. Kari always give me lots of rubs and hugs, teach me new tricks and let me play with my friends all day long.

Last month, Mr. Clint gave me an extra bath, trimmed my nails and watched my ears real good. Mommie could not believe how clean I was :)

Can't wait to wake up in the morning and get there....

First Day of Obedience Class

Yesterday mommie took me to PetSmart for my first beginner's obedience class. At first I thought it was going to be like my regular daycare school - yeaaaaa playtime! ;P But then I met my teacher Ms. Rebecca and she told me where to sit for class. Hmmm, maybe not so much playtime! There was only one other dog in my class. His name is "Dude". He's smaller and me and cool to hang out with during the class.

Ms. Rebecca used me first to teach my mommie how to calm me down. WOW - I really liked that! She gave me lots of tummy rubs and scratches that made me feel relaxed all over. Then, I saw several other dogs in the store that I wanted to play with so I started barking real loud to get their attention. Ms. Rebecca and mommie told me to stop, but I didn't want to. Then Ms. Rebecca sprayed me in the face with water - 2x! So I stopped. They then taught me to be more quiet and calm when I can't play with other doggies.

Ms. Rebecca also taught mommie to use a clicker with treats. That was SO MUCH fun! I got a lot and so did Dude. You can see a picture of me and Ms. Rebecca as she teaches me to pay attention in my photo gallery. I can't wait to go back next Saturday and learn more with my new pal Dude.

Meeting the Family

This summer was extra special because my cousins from Puerto Rico along with my Uncle Robert and Grandparents came to Atlanta for a visit! It was really, really hot so I didn't go outside much. One night all of the family plus Uncle Hosea came to my mommie's house for a cookout. It ended up being a cook-in :) Everyone was nice to me, except my baby cousin Roberto Jose. He took my frisbee and hit me in the face with it. That wasn't very nice and I decided not to play with him. His older brother Manuel was extra nice to me. He petted me a lot, gave me my food and my treats and even took me out to potty. I hope he will come back again to see me soon.

After my cousins left, Grandpa and Grandma came to stay with mommie and me for the night before they had to drive back to Virginia. I had so much fun with them, especially Grandpa. He couldn't get enough of me and I loved being with him very much. Mommie took a picture of us - you can see it in my photo gallery.

My teachers at Barking Hound Village told mommie that they moved me up to be with the middle dogs at doggie daycare. She was so proud of me - woof, woof :)

I love all my supercool teachers - Miss Karie, Mr. Jason, Mr. Charlie, Mrs. Brooke, Mr. Clint, Ms. Kathy and more. They run with me all day long and bring me treats.

Today, I wrestled non-stop and I was so pooped, that I crashed in my bed for an extra long nap after dinner. Now, I'm watching "Mad Men" on AMC with mommie. A golden retriever just joined in tonight's episode...the litle girl named her "Polly".

Can't wait for school tomorrow....

Yesterday I had a doggie playdate with 3 of my mommie's friends: Irenie/Cocoa, Tara/Bella and Jean/Molly. We went to the Piedmont Dog Park in Midtown. It was my first time. I liked it - especially when my mommie let me off my leash!! I ran around a lot with other dogs, splashed in the water fountain and had lots of fun. Then we walked ALL the way up to Peachtree Street to have lunch at TAP. Well, I should say...all of the MOMMIES had lunch, me and my pup pals just layed under the table, eating treats and drinking water. Whew - I was pooped when we finally got home! Looking forward to the next time :)

The Long Dog Days of ATL Summer

I'm pooped...my mommie (Michelle) took me to a picnic at her old church - Cumberland Community today. WOW - it was HOT. All the kids kept coming up to me, petting me, yelling and pulling me on my leash. I liked them, but it was so HOT...after the car ride there and feeling the humidity and the heat...I barfed up my breakfast :( I felt much better once we got home to the A/C and those nice cold concrete floors.

The last 3 weeks with my mommie have been fun. I've lost 3 baby teeth, had my first bubble bath, learned to pee pee and poop outside, and ridden in the car a bunch of times. I've also had my first playdate and sleep over with my pal and neighbor Porkchop. In addition, I've played at Barking Hound daycamp a bumch times - I like it. I've been to the first "Screen on the Green" and slept through the showing of "Cadablanca". My favorite restaurant so far is Park Tavern. Oh yeah - I "Houdinied" out of my crate one afternoon while mommie was at work. The look on her face was so funny!

I have met lots of friends in my building (Cornerstone Village) and neighborhood:

Porkchop (Dana and Steve's English Bulldog)
Madison (Jess and Chris' Black and Tan Coonhound)
Bella (Brian's mutt)
Maggie and Topper (Julie's toy dogs)
Crash (Carl's toy dog)
Rhodes (Donnie's Westie)
Molly (Jean and Jay's Basset Hound)

From Barking Hound:

Pacey (Matt's Grey Warmreiner)
Figo

I hope to go on lots of walks at the park, learn to catch a frisbee and play at the river or beach this summer.
