Captain's log

I love the dog park!

I had my first trip to the dog park today - it's the best thing ever! There were so many dogs for me to play with. I showed them all how fun it is to roll in the mud and it made all our people come running! Now that's how a girl stews in her own funk! My person wouldn't let me in the car until she had cleaned me up a little bit, but I still have a pretty good stink going on. I had so much fun playing chase that I even showed off my singing voice.

I hope we can get a chance to go again soon. But now I need to take a nap. All that fun wiped me out!

One week in

What an exhausting week! I have traveled from North Carolina to Connecticut and my new person needs lots of training. What do you expect from a yankee?

We drove north for 14 hours and finally came "home" late at night. I was so wiped out from sleeping the entire trip that I had to immediately snuggle on the sofa for a quick nap. There is a cat here who doesn't seem to care much for me, but I know that I can win her over with my natural charm.

I get to go on lots of walks, and I like that. Unfortunately my person doesn't understand that a hound dog wants to follow her nose. I never get to go into houses or investigate the trash cans that strike my fancy. The neighbors are nice though. They all tell me how pretty and sweet I am, and some of their dogs play with me.

We went to go visit some new friends last night, and everyone was impressed by how good I am. I even found a handsome man with a soft lap to snuggle me. Now, that's what I call a nice evening! The exertion has exhausted me so I must go take a nap.
