Max has hip dysplasia, which makes walking hard but he still loves to amble around the backyard.
Best Tricks:
Max's best tricks revolve around getting us to do what he wants without us realizing we're doing it, and tripping people who aren't his family when they run by him real fast. It's funny he says.
Arrival Story:
Max is sort of my 'step-dog'. My husband already owned him when we got together. My husband's ex rescued Max off the streets of Detroit. When they broke up, my husband took Max because of dominance issues with the ex's other dogs. Max's previous owners were very abusive towards him.
Bio:
Max is a wonderful dog. He's a bit cranky, due to his age and his hip problems, but he's very happy and loving, too. He's very patient with and protective of our thirteen year-old daughter and is just a joy to have around.
**Sadly, while accompanying his little sister Lucy to her vet visit, Max has learned he has cataracts in both eyes. However, this unfortunate turn of events does not seem to dampen our boy's spirits! He's still a happy dog. Although, he does seem to be using his illness to his advantage!**

It is a sad day for the male dog population.
I am no longer alpha. The intruder, Riley is. Grrrr. But I think she is uneasy about the position. She still get nervous passing me in the hall and I do all I can to be in he way but sometimes I just end up in my peoples way. But they still love me and I love them.
I still get hot dogs in stead of biscuits when I come in from outside. Though there is always a white circle in side of it but it makes me feel better so I don't complain.
And if I bark loud enough I get to be carried up and down the stairs.
Riley still has moments when she forgets i live here and barks at me like IM the intruder. The nerve I guess I will just have to tolerate her for the sake of my family.
I got to go I think the mailman is trying to get by our house while I'm still on the computer. No one gets past me! I'll show him!
