   Leave a bone for Baxter

Bax, Bax-man, bubba, momma's boy, "Baxter, you know I don't speak Spanish"

Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Sun Sign:
Quick Bio:

July 14th 2006

Long walks and making out with strangers if they lean in close enough!

When mommy pays attention to anything other than me! I like to tackle the laptop when it is in Mommy's lap because that's my spot!!

Favorite Toy:
any plush toy that squeaks... until he tears the squeaker out of it. Baxter also likes stuffed animals that are twice his size. I think it makes him feel big and strong when he tears it apart. Must be a guy thing!

Favorite Food:
Baxter loves his dry kibble but is always in the mood for vanilla ice cream

Favorite Walk:
downtown Frederick. everyone knows Baxter there and the man at the corner store gives him treats every time we go.

Best Tricks:
sit, dance, kisses... that is about the extent of it. he is usually too excited to pay attention to commands

Arrival Story:
I saw Baxter's picture online when I was searching for a seal (red)/ white Boston and I absolutely fell in love! I had him flown from Missouri to DC, and we were bonded for life as soon as I took him out of his crate.

Well, it has been a month since the biopsy, and Baxter seems to have most of his personality back, but has not gained any weight back. He is a very tall Boston, so at 24 lbs he looks like a skeleton.Baxter weighed 31 lbs before he was sick, and that was a very healthy weight for his height ( I will have to take some recent pictures so you can compare the before and after.) He still has plenty of energy and has only thrown up a handful of times this month now that he is on his prescription diet, so for now, I am just going to see what he can and cannot eat without getting sick and try to get some weight back on him!

Thank you for all of the supportive messages!

Baxter's biopsy results came back normal. How is that possible when they vet saw punctures in his tummy? For now, the vet is reccomending that we continue to feed Baxter his mushy perscription diet and try to keep weight on him, but he has lost 6 pounds this month alone. He seems to be getting some of his energy back, so maybe the medication is working.

keep your paws crossed.

Baxter and an endoscopy yesterday because we are still unable to determine what is causing him to vomit. The results were scary to say the least. The vet said that it looks like someone took a pin and poked holes in Baxter's tummy. So the vet took samples of his stomach tissue and hopefully we will know what the probelm is in the next 3 -5 days.

Thank you for all the luv and support-
