Another job, yet again for mom!

Whew...its a good thing she can constantly get jobs, the hard part is having ones that last long enough.

We told ya'll recently that mom started a new job last Wednesday and it was a temp job that was supposed to last through at least 5 or 6 weeks. The first day there, they told mom (and the other 2 temps that were hired that same day) that they weren't going to continue with the completion of the survey. It was a oncology drug company that had run a multi-year study years ago and they were just going to input the study info into computers to see if the FDA would approved the drug being studied. But the company went over to Europe to talk with their FDA group which is much stricter than the USA's, and they decided not to continue the study. So, mom's job ended Friday of last week! Talk about a shock to everyone...even the company she was working for it came as a shock to them too. (The main office is based in Masschuttes!)

But, as we know, God is good and takes care of mom, so mom went on an interview yesterday at 4:30 and they called her today and she starts work tomorrow at 8:30! YAY--treats are still on the horizon! And, during the interview the lady was telling mom that after the busy time for which mom was hired for (March-May) they might be wanting someone permanent...and I bet its gonna be MOM! She's a good typer (73 WPM) and her data entry skills are way up there(11,000 - 13,000 keystrokes per minute)--I think thats pretty good, its sounds like a lot of strokes to me (keystrokes or swimming strokes--BOL).

I'm sure ya'll get tired of us always telling you mom has a new job over and over and over, but we just get so excited we like to share with all of our friends here!

Hi Evfurbody..

I want to thank each and every one of you, both long time friends and new pals too, for all the birthday wishes and prezzies you left for me. That was so thoughtful and I was so excited--my page kept filling up and up and up with prezzies! I was doing the happy dance!

I had a very good birthday. Mom loved on me all day long, and I didn't get in trouble once. She gave me my chicken strip treaties, and some eggys (hard boiled...mmmm good!) I played with Austin--he hasn't played with me in a while so it was like "old times". I slept late and got to be a couch potato all day long! YAY me!

I just wanted to thank everyone very very much again for all my prezzies and Happy Birthday wishes!

Your friendship means so much to me.

Mom took that good lookin' guy holding the birthday cake off my page just in case someone might get offended. But thats o.k., I have a bunch more stuff on my page and its just as great without him (as good lookin' as he was....)

FROSTY PAWS RECIPE

Hi Everyone...

I was talking to Lexie a little earlier about Frosty Paws and where to get it. I use the search engine "Dogpile Search & Rescue" that gives to underprivileged dogs everytime you use it, and when I put in Frosty Paws to see where I could buy it close to my house, on the right hand side of all the results was 'Frost Paws Recipe'. I couldn't believe it! so I copied it down for everyone to make if they're so inclined, rather than buy it.

Frosty Paws Dog Ice Cream Recipe

32 oz. plain yogurt
1 mashed banana
2 T p'nut butter
2 T honey

It’s true dairy products aren’t good for dogs, but yogurt contains much less lactase than regular milk and the live cultures are great for your dog’s digestive system. This dog ice cream recipe is delicious and good for your pet!

1. Mix all these ingredients in your blender, then dump into ice cube trays, paper cups, or even a kong toy to freeze and serve.

2. If you want to go all out for your mutt you can freeze these homemade frosty paws just like you would homemade ice cream. A salt-less automatic ice cream maker makes this as easy as using any other appliance in your home and the frosty paws will be ready to serve in 10 minutes.

For the ultimate treat, appropriate for desert at a doggy birthday party, follow steps one and two, then take the mostly frozen dog ice cream product of number two and spread it 1” to 1½” thick on wax paper. Freeze for five minutes and thenremove dog ice cream from freezer. Next, use a paw shaped cookie cutter to cut a paw shaped “frosty paws”, remove ice cream around edges, and return paw shapes to the freezer to freeze solid.

So there ya have it. Lexie said she was gonna ask her mom to make some this weekend, and will either write me or post on her diary how good it was. It seems easy enough for my mom to make it and she doesn't cook! BOL...

My Birthday is Coming Up!!

YAY! My 4th birthday is on March 5. We don't know the exact day of my birthday, but I was 6 months old when mom got me and I was given to her on Sept. 5, so we just subtracted 6 months, and there we have it.

Austin's birthday is coming up too. He was about 18 months old when mom got him and she got him somewhere around September 25, 2006, so his birthday is March 25.

The following is posted very low on our refrigerator door.

Dear Babies: The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Placing a paw print in the middle of my plate of food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Racing me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort, however. Cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other, stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out on the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm!!

For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom! If, by some miracle, I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge in an attempt to open the door. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years - feline attendance is not required.

The proper order for kissing is: Kiss me first, then go smell the other cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough.

Finally, in fairness, dear pets, I have posted the following message on the
front door:

TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS:

(1) They live here. You don't.
(2) If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That's why they call it 'fur'-niture.
(3) I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
(4) To you, they are animals. To me, they are adopted sons & daughters who are short, hairy, walk on all fours and sometimes don't speak clearly.

Remember, dogs and cats are better than kids because they:
(1) eat less,
(2) don't ask for money all the time,
(3) are easier to train,
(4) normally come when called,
(5) never ask to drive the car,
(6) don't hang out with gangs,
(7) don't smoke or drink, (although there is some question as to why someone fell asleep on the phone book under the heading of Alcoholics Anonymous listings)
(10) don't need a gazillion dollars for college,
(11) if they get pregnant, you can sell their children,
(12) don't talk back and roll their eyes at you,
(13) are always glad to see you!
