IT'S ALL ABOUT ME!!!
Mom's getting rid of all of our toys...December 20th 2010 9:24 am[ View A Comments (24) ]
Ok, well maybe not ALL of them, but a bunch of them anyway. Last week mom went to PetSmart and bought 12 of the Christmas stockings that have toys in them to give to the pups at the animal shelter. That's like 48 toys! Then she said there were a BUNCH of our toys that we don't play with (the rubber, squeeky ones) that she decided to get rid of. So yesterday she rounded up all the tennie balls and the squeeky toys and washed them all up where they look like new (we never really ever played with them) and she's going to take them to the shelter too. She feels some other pups should have a Merry Christmas and enjoy them rather than them just sitting in a basket here at our house. Maybe the toys will be come their favorite ones that they take with them when they find their forever homes. That would be so cool.

I did panick when I first read your title, I thought your momma had gone crazy and that you pups were going to have to protest or sumthing! That is a lot of toys for those sweet pups, good idea! I know those shelter pups got lots of free time on them's pawses waiting around for their furevfur famblies to arrive. They don't has important jobs like us dogs with homes do, guarding the properteases and keeping the pawrents happy. So they go nutzo for toys! You sure got the spirit of Christmas in your heartses. We wuff you! Thanks Bacon and everyone. Its a good way to get rid of toys that aren't played with all the time. And Bacon your fambly did the same thing and gave your shelter where you came from some toys for their pupses too, didn't ya'll?? Christmas spirit is everywhere! We did!!! And the pups loved it. We heard that there was squeaking galores!!! Hey...speaking of shelters and rescuses...Bacon got a very special early present from Santa Paws. A doggie of my very own. Mama pretended like we were just gonna foster him, but now she says Bacon can keep the Beanie for my very own!!! Will you send him a furriend request? Mama just made a page for him today! Merry Christmas evfurrydoggie! What a wonderful idea!! It is super generous of you and your Mom to do this for all the pups that are spending Christmas at a shelter. My Mom has to send some $$$ to our area shelter. They were robbed last week by some horrid people who took construction materials that were being used to build new kennels and dog runs. They were supposed to be ready for Christmas but now the project is delayed. We just hope those grinches get there's in the end. How horrible that someone would steal much less from a dog shelter! What goes around comes around. I'm so glad you're donating to them. Mom set up a monthly contribution to the shelter in her mom's name who passed away in March. Mom thought grandmom would really like that and it helps out the pupses and kittehs. :o) CONGRATS BACON on a new brother!! We sent a PPR, and left boneses for hims to munch on and left him lots of pressies too!! YAY! Is Izzy happy too?? Doo that is great ! HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!! Bacon..... I am lining up to dig the lime pit for the pond slime thieves to drown in... if they are caught. OMD!!! Doo & Austin!!! You are the bestest! Smooch, smooch, smooch. Thank you so much for be Beans' new furriend! He's okay, Doo! He's not all "IN MY FACE!!!!" like Bacon. OMD! Bacon needs doggie downers. The kind of peepole who would steal from a shelter are the same "Naughty word" kind of peepole who would stick a dog in shelter in the furst place. In our opinnyon, there are only a handful of legittymate reasons to be dropping a part of your fambly off and nevfur coming back anyway. Nice thing that your Mom did, Doo. Merry Christmas! That's real nice, but I would be so mad if momma started rounding up my toys. Hope you get some good new ones for Christmas!! Doo...that is a wonderful thing to do! The shelter that my mom works at gives each of the doggies a couple of toys each morning after they get their rooms cleaned ;) They love them! Millie! That is so utterly cool that your mom works at a shelter. I'm so glad they DO get the toys. So you have to tell us everything...at your mom's shelter, do they take the toys away from them every evening and give them back in the morning? Will they get to keep the toys to take to their forever homes? When mom dropped off the toys yesterday, they asked her "are you donating these, or do you want them to go to our dogs?" Well of course mom wanted them to go to the dogs at the shelter which is why she bought them. I guess she could have donated them to other families's dogs, but she wanted them to go to the shelter dogs. How do we know the dogs got the toys and the workers didn't take them home to their own dogs? Or give them away to their friends or something? Doo those are great questions, I was wondering some of those same things (great minds think a like). Mom wanted to take some toys too but wondered if they really get to play with them. Also, was this a kill shelter? I think that is all we have in this area (so sad), but those pups need toys too! Woof Woof, Molly Molly, our Animal Defense League is a no-kill shelter. We have another one here in town that used to be a kill shelter (one of the highest kill shelters in the US) but now it TOO is a no-kill shelter. I'm so glad too. Not a good thing to be known as top city with a high kill shelter. :o( oh my! All the toys?? This is a bummer.. On the other hand it's for a good cause - I like the idea :o) Woofs to you and happy holidays, Jolanda and sonja That's great what you all did for the shelter pups!
