Well, i was about ten years old, and i came home with my dad from the youth center. He hits the button on the answering machine (reminder that this is the beginning of december, close to christmas, and i have been BEGGING my parents for a dog FOREVER) and here comes on this message "Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Millyard. I'm calling to inform you that your application for one of our puppies is good. Call me back as soon as possible and we can set a date for the pick out and pick up of your puppy. The available date starts on December 14th! have a nice day". So, as you can imagine, a ten year old little kid, I'm freaking out at the thought of getting my very own, cute, cuddly little buddy! Well, obviously this was meant to be a suprise, cuz i had NO idea i was getting a dog. My dad yells a few unruly words, and says "WAIT! your not getting a dog! nope, your not getting a dog!" my mom walks throught the door, im happy as can be, and yell "MOM! IM GETTING A PUPPY!!!!" about as loud as i can! My mom looks over my shoulder at my dad and say "you TOLD her?!" he, obviously completely mad that my main christmas present had been spoiled by the answering machine, yells "NO!" and looks at answering machine. I can just picture hime picking up a hammer and beating it to crumbles...(just picturing, he didn't really do that, of course). so, now im running around the house, picking out names for my puppy (assuming i was getting a girl, ((so did my parents)) and thinking of girly names.) well, we go to pick up my puppy, December 14th, their first available day! and i pick, of course, the cudliest, fattest, cutest little BOY! (you shoulda seen him) not two minutes after i pick him up, these two people (father and about 14-15 year old daughter) drive up, and are serious about finding the right puppy for the show ring. Of course they take one look at me, and my puppy, and (him being the best for showing) dispise me for picking him. haha, i love it. Anyway, thats how i got my puppy, and his name (being D-O-G) stands for Devyn's Outstanding Gentlemen!
Bio:
When we took him to the vet, he gaurunteed him to win best in breed. apparently his bone structure was incredible, the stongest the vet had ever seen on a pug, and his tail was so curley and loopy (something the judges look, apparently). Too bad i never got a chance to show him....
