Another reason to spay your dog...Pyrometra, a very serious- condition!!! Repost from my mommy's last Dog Kita's diary:

I cannot say that the following link is a vetinary journal of my dog Kita. I can tell you that my dog at ten years old developed pyrometra. She was in bad condition with a zero percent chance of living without surgery and even after surgery her condition was so bad she was still only given 45% rate of survival. Her being of strong spirit pulled her through and her case was so similar to this journal entry it is amazing. They called her the miracle dog at my vets. He also had me sign realeases saying that he wanted to add her case into a vet journal due to the severity of her condition due to the fact they were still able to save her with what they said was her having a uterus about nine times the size it should be and much larger than a human uterus. I just wanted to put this link out there for all my puppy pals so that their humans will be well aware of a condition I knew nothing of until my beloved dog all but died from it....and trust me on this...the surgery is very costly! to save your pet at this point....I would strongly suggest if you do not intend to use your dog for the purpose of breeding fix her...fix her....fix her....and read the following journal entry by going to this link.....

Fort Woof

We are officially moved to Fort Worth and everything is so peaceful and nice here. Mommy has found me the best spot ever just seven miles up the road on the same road we live off of. It is called Fort Woof and it is our understanding that it is the best dog park in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. It has everything there a dog could need and I am making some great playmates there. I love being off my leash and just running and running. Mommy is trying to teach me the agility course. I'll never be high speed at it as I'm not that kind of dog but it may be fun just to do it for laughs.yesterday we went for the second day in a row. We left so early, only seven thirty and stayed at the park til noon. Mom says we cannot stay that long every day but that it will become part of our routine. Some mornings she takes me to this place called starbucks and gets her coffee and we sit out front while she has it. She says thats good socialization for me as well as I sit and watch the human passer byers hurry on about their daily routines. I go to my new vet on the eigth just to get an initial check up and meet them.I hope they like me ok. They went to OSU...I like them already...Go oklahoma, never foget your roots.Ya know I was born right by that campus. daddy has been spoiling me to death and though he doesn't admit it much I just know he loves pet smart!!! WE go in for something I need and always come out with goodies. He spent over twelve dollars on gourmet cookies for me. MOm gasped and said I don't spend that on human cookies...woo hoo,that makes me special...Yeah!!!!
I get to have my picture done with Santa there this year and I heard mommy mention a santa hat???? I don't even like my harley daividson ball cap!!! I think mom is nuts!!! Why do I need a silly santa hat? Won't the humans notice the difference when they see four legs instead of two? And I'm a girl, there is no way I'm letting her put that thing on me...Anyhow all is good this way.....

I've learned sit, stay, down, come, heel, good dog, no and leave it in two different languages and with hand signal commands!!!! Aren't I a Smart puppy!!!!

Mommy And Questionable Logic

It is geting nice and cool here !!! I spent my early morning on the back patio cuz mommy thought I could use some fresh air. I spent my time doing some gardening (again). I don't know why mommy doesn't like the way I transplant the flowers,and I worked so hard at it....Then she raised her voice(of all things) when she let me in just cuz I wanted to go sit on the new couch( I don't know about these humans) she hollered something bout my paws and some dirt. She never hollers that at herself...

I got my final check up from the vet for the year and he said I have a clean bill til next Sept. now?? I guess that means mom has paid him in full????

Mom says knowing me and the way I rummage I'll be back at least five times probably to see him for my tummy before the year ends. What the woof does that mean?

I never scrape my tummy on the can when digging in trash.......I really question my mom and her logic at times.....

Mom isn't so clever

Mom thought she was being smart picking up the kitten food first thing in the morning off the floor and hiding it on the bar and then setting my food down for my breakfast.

Come on now Mom, you have to wake up pretty early in the morning to fool a pup like me. Think....think a little more mom....setting my container that holds all my food on the floor right infront the breakfast bar just wasn't smart enough. You look at me growing more every day...

Silently I creeped, slowly I sneaked and with one small effort up I went on my front feet onto the container which put me just at bar level and once again I enjoyed leaving my feline friend with nothing but crumbs. I can't help it. It's good eating!!! Just the right amount in the cat's bowl as a little appetizer before my own breakfast. This sniffer I have been blessed with leads me right to it everytime(we won't even discuss the litter box yet).

You can't outwit my senses mom. Maybe you should try a clothes line pin to my nose, but you know I'm just gonna knock that right off and then chew it to bits.

Keep trying mom,eventually maybe you'll figure something out but for now, let's just say "Nine Lives" you are mine. Afterall if a cats gets nine lives so should I!

Home from boarding...

mom boarded me for four days while she went house hunting in Fort Worth. It was ok. I had a really cool great dane next to me to chat with, and I think he had the hots for me.

She picked me up first thing early this morning and I've got my eye on her very closely today. She is not leaving me behind for anything!!! I'm keeping close vidual of the front door!!!! If it opens I completely intend to jet out with her....she's not gonna get away with one single outting that I can not escort her on, afterall I have no idea what she got up to in Fort Worth but I honestly believe I should get to pick the house according to the yard and found the whole situation very unfair!!! I will tolerate no more of it. Next time I'm going and that's that.

Puppy treat collars, now please!!!

My mommy says she loves me very,very much!!!!!!

She says we are gonna have the best of times together and spend some time making other people happy along the way.....

Life is great aside of her throwing away my beef shank bone last night. She says she's gonna get me another one in a few days and.......I'm getting new puppy jewelry(That's what she calls the leash an collar). I say it's just a bogus way of her trying to make me accept them as a good thing.

I've seen how the kids around have candy necklaces. Now if she wants to get me a collar made completely of doggy treats, hey I'm all for that!!! I'll be needing at least one of those a day, so come on you puppy treat creators, get on the horn and make some calls and let's get this thing into the works!!!

But it was too tempting mom....

OH boy am I in trouble this morning....

I have a canine playmate, Sassy who a while back took a liking to my moms flower bed on her back patio. She taught me something fun,fun,that really makes my mom upset. See mom had to plant her flowers three different times this year before the seed took hold due to all the floods. Sassy found this fun thing to do. Dig up the beautiful flowers mom had planted and wow it is fun.

I've been cooped up inside for the most part over the weekend as the floods returned and I'm so full of energy I just went stir crazy inside. So mom decided to let me onto the back patio this morning for some fresh air.

I was just having fun...but I have dug up her flowers, but who cares they just look like weeds to me anyhow. I think what she's upset about the most is that I slung mud all over her patio and then ran back inside covered in mud and now her kitchen floor is covered in mud as well as me myself. I guess I did create some work for her today. I'm sorry mommy, look into my eyes, they are so loving and sorry(think that'll work)?

OK guess I better go find a way to make up to mom and hopefully she will remain understanding that I just wanted something to do out there....maybe next time she'll remember to throw a few toys out there with me...

Oh and Sassy after my behavior this morning we might just want to lay off the flowers, haha......

Fort Worth I'm headed your way!!!!

Found out today daddy is coming home from Iraq!!! He has gotten a job in Fort Worth Texas. I found out as mommy told me I'm gonna get a huge back yard for me and the boys to run and play and have a good time in once we move there.

Mommy even says I'm gonna even have a doggy door. Daddy's unsure on it but mom says, I'm getting it,and if mama aint happy aint nobody happy, so I'll get it.

As for my training it looks like we may wait til we get there so that I make sure once I start I can indeed finish the classes.

I heard mom and dad talking today via a headset on her computer. Daddy said hi to me and I got so excited I almost tore up the headset.

What a good day!!!!!!!!!!
