For All our Pets

Our Friend Jill found these words we should all live by. I hope she doesn't mind Mom putting them on our page. We are just not pets or something we bought but part of our "family" now and should be treated as such.
Thank You Jill...
1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment.
You have your work, your friends, your entertainments, but I have only you.

5. Talk to me.
Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch.
Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.

~Take a moment today to thank God for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of them.
Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without God's critters~

Now please pass this on to other pet owners. We do not have to wait for Heaven, to be surrounded by hope, love, and joyfulness. It is here on earth and has four legs!

Getting to know you!

Shadow was very lonely after losing his sister Riley but we were not ready to even think about another pup.
Mom decided just to look on the Midwest Beagle Rescue site and found many she would bring home. Dad was more not ready but would check them out.
Reno's Mom called us and said she was looking for a good home for her 2 yr old Beagle. She had only rescued him in Feb 2006 and he husband died in Oct. 2006 and she need a very special home for him. We drove up to Milwaukee to check him out with Shadow. They took to each other immediately, in fact they slept together in the back all the way home. We've had some trouble with toys but nothing bad. They both want to sleep next to Mom so that's a big deal since Shadow was there 1st. But we all are adjusting since March 2007 and it's only June.
They both love to look out the picture window and bark at all the neighborhood doggies and play in the back yard.
They both look so very much alike it's hard to tell them apart. Shadow was a rescue too, someone dumped him at a Wal-Mart and my cousin picked him up knowing we would gladly take him in. So as you can see, we are very partial to doggies in need of a good home where there is lots of love and kisses and treats.
