Arrival Story:
My husband and I wanted to adopt a dog from the local animal shelter so he had me go one day to see if there was any animal that grabbed my attention. He wanted a small dog since we already have a cocker spaniel, Sierra. So I went and looked and found two dogs that showed to be the most affectionate of all and they were both too cute! One was a 1 year old shih tzu and the other was a 6 month old doberman. Well, since my husband wanted a smaller dog I took him back and showed the shih tzu and the doberman to him in hopes that he'd choose the latter of the two. Well he liked both so we decided that the next day we'd take Sierra to meet them both and see who she got along with the most. Needless to say she chose the lesser of the two... the shih tzu. So we brought Toby home and had him for almost 2 weeks when he started becoming aggressive to Sierra, my husband and to me. So we took him back to the shelter and introduced Sierra to Rocky, who still hadn't been adopted. This time they started to play and Sierra, although a lot smaller was initiating a game of fetch with this MUCH larger dog! We took him home that day and the rest is history. I just regret that Rocky, then Klinger, had to sit at that shelter for another two weeks while we learned that he was the perfect dog for us!

At the time we adopted him, the shelter said that he was picked up as a stray and that he'd been there for only two weeks, while the first time I looked at him they told me he had been at the shelter for almost two months. They did state when we signed the paper that he was to be put down the following Monday (we took him home on Saturday!) Although Rocky was picked up as a stray, I think he was dropped off because he hasn't even attempted to get away since we've had him. He's also the sweetest dog, why anyone would want to get rid of him is beyond me! He is all natural (not cropped or docked) which makes him look more like a coon hound than a doberman pinscher... but he might as well look sweet since he is! LOL Rockie has since been adopted by larry and susan shay and is living the country life sittin in mommas lap eating out of my hands. he has me wraped around his paws lol. he is protictive. and wonderful with Thomas and Destiny they are his kids. Rockie is awesome. The Rock rules. ( at lest the loveset and momma's bed )
