Arrival Story:
Apparently I wrote that I wanted a puppy for Christmas when we were making wish lists in school, and my teacher told my parents how much I really wanted one. So, my parents came to me one day and told me that we had to go to another city about 30 minutes away so that we could get my dad some tools. Of course I wasn't too happy about this, but I went along anyways. So we hopped in the car and drove. We arrived at a house and went in. As my dad was talking to the lady that lived there, I noticed a little black ball of fluff jumping around in a cage and I pointed to my mom and said, "Look at the puppy!" She smiled and said, "Yes, I know...she's yours." I questioned her and they explained everything. So we took her home, where she followed me everywhere as soon as we arrived, and she still follows me everywhere until this day. She's the best Christmas present I could have ever asked for!

Bio:
Abby's a good example of the outcome of bad breeders. I love her to death, but she taught me the lesson to not buy from breeders (or atleast make sure they're in it for the dogs and not the money). All of her life she's had awful skin conditions, nonstop ear infections, breathing problems, terrible allergies, and a very sensitive stomach. She also suffers from Keratoconjunctivitis sicca or simply "dry eye", causing her to slowly go blind despite all the medicine we've used. Abby is pretty much completely blind now and shows no signs of adapting to this...this breaks my heart more than anything. ---------------------- On a lighter note, Abby is a total sweetheart. She wants nothing more from life than non stop belly rubs or just to be touched in general. She's about the cutest thing I've ever seen :) She lives with my parents in Dallas because it would be nearly impossible for her to adjust to new surroundings without seeing them. I love her more than anything, so I hope that she can hang in there long enough for me to get my degree and move so she can come live with me and Ellie, though I don't think Ellie would like that very much :)

Too Young To Be Old

Alabama

December 21st 2007 6:14 pm   [link to this entry]

Well I'm in Alabama now with mom, grandmom and grandpa visiting family until Monday. I'm so happy to have alone time with mom without Ellie bugging us.

Mom decided it would be easier for me to eat kibble while here, so I'm boycotting it after getting raw for 2 days. Mom doesn't want me to starve, so she's been feeding me Canidae snap biscuits, sweet potatoes and hamburger meat. Mmmm sweet potatoes! I love 'em love 'em!

I hear talk of mom coming home tonight...I wonder if it's true?..because that would be paaawsome! I hope Ellie isn't coming with her, though, unless she decides to be nice to me. I like to hump for dominance...what can I say?
