I bought Cheri when she was 4 months old on April 21st. She was welcomed into our family first by a ride from Commerce GA to Spartanburg SC. Since April 21st, Cheri has completed puppy school, been a model Bichon at the groomers and has done her best to make a play pal out of a 5 years old in door tom cat and a 10 year old outdoor Basset Hound. She LOVES everyone espeically children and other dogs. To her, I believe, she see's them as someone to give her not just attention but adoration and as a potential play pal.
Cheri enjoys walking the neighborhood and loose leash walking is something we work on almost daily. We also work on her other obedience commands nearly every day as well.
The last two weekends we have spent in Charleston becoming an empty nest. Cheri traveled very well and enjoyed the motel environment because there were so many new people and dogs to adore her. She is big on adoration. She is big on affection. What surprised me so much was she knew which room was ours on day one. What schocked me was she remembered which room we had been in the week prior. Now, she has the smarts to reconize a home from home, to learn commands and to sometimes tell us when she has to go out. Note the word sometimes. Some days she is great at house training and other days it's crate time.
In two weeks she is to be spayed and that might give our Tom Cat a bit of relief. Cheri has taken to not just bowling over a 17 lb cat (Cheri is at 10) but also humping him. The cat has been neutered you might say all of his life but when the moon is full and it's kitten season he becomes antsy. Does he know what is going on? Hard to say but I think he does but doesn't.
Speaking of bowling over. Cheri hits the back door so hard when our Basset is at the top of the stairs she has pushed out the screen. Occasionally, she will dart around the house and hit him with a flying Bichon tackle. Then bounces off. We don't let her play with Plum very often because he is an old dog. Gentle as a lamb but old none the less.
I've crammed 2 months into a few paragraphs and hope you have enjoyed reading it. Your comments are welcomed.

Cheri has graduated from puppy class and her crowning moment was when she gave a "paw" at command with the additional incentive of a treat. She has been very amenable to training though we don't trust her yet with the freedom of the house.
