Badges: Quick Bio:
Likes: You could have thought she was a princess because she loved to have her hair cut and would show it off. She also loved sleeping in her dog bed all day long.

Pet-Peeves: She didn't like strangers or lots of other dogs to be in her space.

Favorite Toy: Any unclaimed rawhide bone would be stolen.

Favorite Food: Any unclaimed dog food would also be stolen. lol

Favorite Walk: She never cared for them. She tended to have the 'deer caught in the headlights' kind of look if you did walk her.

Best Tricks: Staying still in her dog bed... and also stealing bones and food with lightning quick speed.

Arrival Story: My Mom, brother, and I went on a canoe trip in July '97 and as we were coming back home we spotted a little black dog on the side of the highway. We turned the car around and by this time the dog had made it into the median near a bridge (hence the name Bridgette). She wouldn't come to my brother, so I decided to call her. She came to me right away. We took her to the vet and found out she was pregnant and had the last stage of heartworms. The puppies couldn't be saved and after her being spayed, she weighed a mere 9 pounds, skin and bones. The vet said she had to have been on her own for at least 6 months. Needless to say, Bridgette picked me out of everyone else to be her right-hand chica and we were the apple of each others eye.

Bio: After we rescued her, we realized that more than likely she was abused by men. For a few years she wouldn't go anywhere near a man, and if she did, they'd have to have been very familiar to her and had to crouch down when they got near her. She grew to love everybody, though more often than not she liked to stay to herself. Because she didn't like a lot of changes, she lived with my Mom when I moved out of state. When I moved back a few years later, she was still the spunky Bridgette I knew.
In November 2006, Bridgette had to be put down due to congestive heart failure. It was one of the hardest things I've had to go through. Fortunately she had a long and full life (roughly 14 years) and was spoiled rotten. She didn't miss a beat until her last breath. I miss my little girl so much.
