Pet-Peeves: Not being the center of attention. Getting a "time out."
Favorite Toy: A plush doggie head that says "weee! Wowww! uh-0h!" when it's tossed.
Favorite Food: Homestyle Select natural
Favorite Walk: Anywhere.
Best Tricks: She projectile poops. No kidding. Shoots her poo out like a bullet. Sometimes it even goes "ping!"
Arrival Story: Her first mommy had a nervous breakdown and she and her brother were adopted by a friend of our family. Her brother developed a painful eye problem and was destroyed. Then the friend acquired a big dog from his boss. The big dog and the little dog were not getting along, and he wanted to keep the bosses former dog purely for office politics. I was afraid he'd destroy Desi, so we took her.
Bio: I didn't know if we'd like having a Jack, but now I think I'd like to haveabout 10 of them! Desi is so smart and funny. Her favorite thing is to put a treat where all the other dogs can see it, and then tell them repeatedly with barks and lunges that they can't have it. She loves to go for walkies, and she has the cutest habit of sticking her tongue out when she is getting lovin's.
My name is Desiree. I am a thirteen-year-old Jack Russell Terrier. I was adopted by my moms almost four years ago. I was never one of those pups waiting in a kennel hoping for a forever home. I had a nice life for the first six years of my life, until my person got sick and couldn’t take care of me and my brother any more. I was fostered by a nice couple after that for two years, and then my life journey led me to my third and furever home. I’m not the only pup at my house that’s on her third home. I have two sisters, one adopted before me, one adopted after me, and all three of us had two different homes before finally coming together. We have two brothers, too, but our home is the first home for each of them. They were both sick when they were adopted as puppies. The five of us make a great family. My moms have opened their hearts and their doors for twenty-five years, taking in dogs and cats that other people didn’t want. They say that their lives have been full because so many misfit animals have filled their hearts. They say that if they didn’t have all of us to love that it would be like there is no air to breathe. They are always willing to give a dog or cat a new chance at life, even when those animals are sick or scared, or even kind of crazy. When I came to live with my forever moms, they made me feel so special and wanted. They took turns holding me and rocking me and singing “She’s so Pretty” to me. They dressed me in jammies when I got cold and they let me snuggle with them at night. They think I look like a curly lamb, so they nicknamed me “Lammy Lamb.” I am a JRT, so I have a lot of energy, but my moms never yell at me for barking and playing. My one mommy tells me all the time how much she loves me, and wishes that I had come to live with them many years ago, so we could have been together that much longer. My life is so different since I’ve been adopted. I feel pretty, and loved, and special. I wish every dog in the world could feel so loved.
