I got to be in a big parade! My Dad took me and our friend Joe (Joe is from China) to Kansas City on Saturday March 14th. We were entered with the Bullies Playground group. I was one of nearly 60 Bully Breed dogs with their friends and family in the parade. There were alot of other Pits. Dad said I was one of the best behaved dogs there! I was cleaned up and ready for the public too (got a bath the night before, nails were trimmed, new collar, all my tags on, wore some green and orange, was well rested, good weight, hydrated, happy and feeling fine... I'm also FIXED! :). My Dad pointed out that not all dogs were clean, some were misbehaving and some were not even feeling well!, loose bowels and throwing up!!! besides most were still intact. We were supposed to be making a point about the breeds, our families are supposed to be advocates to help us get better reputations! Can you believe people would bring intact, dirty, misbehaving and sick dogs out to be in a parade? Why can't they just say "we're not ready for this!" and stay home or leave when they realize their dog has had to much excitement for one day. Sometimes just getting there is the whole battle and then it's time to leave. Each time you might get further into the event, but it may take awhile before you get to enjoy the entire planned event. We are like raising kids...it's not always easy...but if you do it right it's rewarding :)
