Best Tricks: He can Come, Stay and Lay Down....quite impressive for a greyhound! LOL

Arrival Story: I knew I wanted a greyhound and had for years...the time came when I could adopt one so I went to the Humane Society. I chose this route as the greyhounds that are with an adoption agency are usually being fostered, the ones at the Humane Society are not as lucky. Also, being in Florida, I knew our Humane Society almost always had greyhounds. Well, I showed up one Sunday in February of 2003 and asked if they had any greyhounds. "No" was the reply. Bummer! Oh well, I figured that I would take a look around and say hi to all the other dogs and just come back another time. As I headed out to the kennel, another lady spoke up and said "Yes we do have a greyhound! One that was returned". Well, it turns out that he was returned for not being good with kids. He was as they call shy greyhounds a "spook". Needless to say, I fell in love that day, and every day I just love him more and more. (Luckily my own son is grown so no issues with the not being good with kids). Adopting Bandit has changed my life, I am very involved in anti-racing advocacy now and volunteer on a regular basis. Bandit is a joy to have around and a real clown. Today Bandit is a totally different dog than the one I adopted that day, and there's one thing that made all the difference, simply LOVE.

Bio: Bandit's racing name was Lil' Sunday Time and thankfully he only raced for one season before heading off to retirement with me!
