I like to lay around, but I also like playing keep away with my mommy. She throws a squeaky toy of my choosing and then I run back and she tries to get it away. I let her get it sometimes so I can keep her interested in the game.

Best Tricks:
I used to have a good disappearing trick that involved scaling the 6' fence. I haven't been able to do this trick since my mommy "booby-trapped" the fence. I also have performed a good trick by making my mommy think I won't eat unless I'm hand-fed.

Arrival Story:
My mommy told me that her old dog had passed away about 6 weeks before and she had been looking for the right dog that would be good friends and company for her and my step-sister Isabeau. She went to a "super adoption" event and met someone she knew from having volunteered at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, UT. She told her she was looking for a new friend and Carol (my caregiver at BFAS) said "I have the perfect dog" (that would be me!). I was known at Best Friends as Roger and had been at the sanctuary for 2 years. I was just so quiet and laid back that I was always overlooked to go out on adoptions. This was my first adoption event and I only had to be there for about 30 min. before my soon-to-be-mommy and Isabeau came. I think it was fate and that I was just hanging out at the sanctuary until it was time to join their pack.

Bio:
Since the BFAS knew my mommy they let me go home for a trial "sleep-over" before she officially adopted me. I was kinda nervous that day 'cause I hadn't been in a real house for 2 years so I would go off by myself sometimes. I was laying in the hall so Isabeau and mommy came in and sat by me and talked to me. I let Isabeau sniff me all over. My mommy asked Izzy if I was a keeper and she immediately licked mommy's face. She took that as a "YES" and I'm glad! Izzy and I have been best friends ever since. My mommy adopted me on her birthday and says I am the best birthday present ever!
