Arrival Story:
Well, Belinda was caught after being a street dog for over a year and ended up in the Middlebury Animal Shelter. No one could get close to her, so they posted a request for someone to help. We went up 3 times a week and worked on building her trust of people. After about 4 months, she was adopted to a family in New Hampshire. One week later, they took her on a trip to Boston and lost her...they went home without her. WE spent a week in daily contact with local ACOs, organized searches (from 4-hours away) and the following weekend we went up to Saugus (suburb of Boston). We spent one day tracking her, and the next day chasing her (WE FOUND HER)! We set a trap, and we got her on the 3rd day (Nov 11, 2002)! She came home with us and lived out her final year with us.

Bio:
2-weeks after she came to our home, she got through the baby gates and ravaged Gibby ($1200, 4 hours of surgery, 47 staples and over 100 stitches)...but we gave her another chance, taking extreme precautions to ensure it never happened again. Belinda was confined when no one was home, her kennel needed to be continually reinforced because there wasn't any structure that could hold her for long...she ate right through the metal, plastic, chain link and wood (doors). She was muzzled when she was in the house, and we worked to help Gibby and Belinda get along. Belinda died of kidney-failure on Nov 28, 2003, a little more than a year after we brought her home.
