Birthday:
April 14th 1998

Likes:
Bellybutton Rubs, getting Haircuts, Showing off to neighbors and anyone else, racing around uncontrollably

Pet-Peeves:
Anything that slowed her down and any & all large dogs

Favorite Toy:
Whatever she could "borrow" from her sister and stash in her pile

Favorite Food:
Just about anything, I once saw her eat pickle slices (but only once)

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere, just as long as she was out and moving

Best Tricks:
On good days, her long leash was attached to a bungee cord that was anchored between two sheds...the little minx learned to run out to the limit of leash and bungee, take a turn and learned to fly when the cord snaped her back

Arrival Story:
I had dogs and cats when I was a kid, but growing up, living in apartments, lots of moving...for a long time I didn't have any pets. In my early 30's, I became a full-time caregiver to a disabled lady who had cats. This was wonderful. However the stress's of in-home caregiving...well, I needed a companion that I could share outside walks with,...so I went searching for a small companion dog. Read up on all the different breeds and their temparments. Then couldn't find any of the choices that I had decided on...until I stopped at my vets. A couple had just brought in a mother and six pups to be checked out. I contacted them and had several interviews with them and was allowed to pick out two of the pups (1 for me, and 1 for my client-didn't want her to feel left out.) The father was the happiest, playful purebred copper Pekingese (14#) The mother was a 10# purebred Shih Tzu. She was more subdued, but what mother wouldn't be subdued with 6 puppies chasing you down to feed. She was grateful for any lap time that gave her a breather from her pups. I picked out the 2nd born and my client asked for the runt. Like with any new kids brought into a family...What a chore and What A Joy!

Bio:
In fall of 2003, I had surgeries and complications afterwards...sadly it caused me not to be able to continue to care for Rosie. I contacted a lady who specialized in finding good, reliable homes that would suit the personality of her charges. She took Rosie and spent time with her and traveled with her. I believe that my hyper Rosie wore her out...that little girl had energy to spare. I truely felt that she felt that everyone loved her and it was her due. She had the biggest grin and the happiest outlook. She found her new home quickly. Again, the people who passed through all the visits were an older couple who had lost their longtime companion and they were feeling the loss deeply. Rosie's cheerful outlook and high levels of energy coupled with her clownish behavior, turned out to be just the spiritual lift that they needed. They were so happy to take her home. The last few years my health has slowly improved, and I had started to miss my companions. I am now searching for new companions. Will post pictures when I get them.
