Arrival Story:
I was looking for a schutzund prospect and ran into a guy at a local pet supply warehouse who told me he was going to be getting a couple of puppies from a friend. I continued to look at kennels online and by chance checked out his website. Went and looked at her and by the time I decided to take her I was told there was a deposit on her but thankfully for me the person liked her sister better. Her father is a Czech line schutzund dog and her mother is a german showline dog.

Tasha is in constant training hopefully to be a schutzund dog. She continues to excel at obedience and tracking will not be any issue for her. She's a little slower to develop than most but she never stops amazing us.

My Progress.....

It's time for an update......

Wow I haven't updated her in a what has "little miss perfect" been up to.....

Tasha recently turned 2 and is really coming to life. She is completely full of herself (or as some people look at it...out of control). While she may never make Sch3 we are still not loosing hope for bitework. Some czech dogs need until they are 3 and my trainers agree that there is just something about this dog.

Her obedience is just awesome and we will start working on perfecting the off leash for the BH and hopefully the Sch1. Her only issue is that she gets really excited about it and starts zoomies in the middle of the heeling I said she is full of herself.

While training is progressing well with Tasha the decision was made to place Kima in a pet quality home. That decision was bittersweet since it greatly upset me to place her but it also allowed me to look for a male. I was in no hurry to find a puppy or to place Kima but an awesome male puppy was advertised for sale. I drove 5 hours to the other side of Montreal to look at him and within 2 seconds of seeing him I knew I had to have him. I will add him as soon as he learns that a camera is not something that needs to be swallowed!

Happy Holidays to all our pals here and everyone stay safe.

Happy Training!

Tough weekend....

Tough Saturday at training with Tasha. We think she may be coming in heat again which means she can get a little funky. She worked through the stress which my TD was thrilled with but given her choice she would have prefered to stay in the car. He was happy with her progress but I was disappointed as she has been doing so well even in new surroundings.

I did get to go watch the North American Schutzhund Championships on Sunday and that was a lot of fun. There were some completely awesome dogs and handlers working. A couple people had some major mistakes which was good for me to see since my girls are giving me such a hard time. Plus I got to do some shopping......YES!

I came back from the trial and worked her again and she was still not herself but yesterday she did fantastic. I know she has good days and bad days but why do all the bad ones happen when we go to see the trainer???

Oh well I guess we'll just keep working.

I'm too smart....

Well at training on saturday it was just obedience which to be honest I was happy with. I really wasn't in the mood for agitation work. I have to learn all this lovely footwork for the turns that are to come up in the BH and Sch1. So I didn't want to screw my dog up so my TD told me to put her up and do it without her. I looked like a complete fool then but now the neighbors think I'm NUTS! The girls bark like mad since I have no dog but I am working like I do.

Well I have been using Tasha to see if I can do the steps and she's already done with the movement as I'm still trying to figure out if I got it right. My TD says for a former gymnast I'm not very coordinated......He's right. 4" beam no problem 4 consecutive turning steps with hand movements....look out.

We are trying to put some weight on Tasha. I know more owners would love to have that problem. I fed her 7 lbs of food over 36 hours (her normal ration is just over 3 lbs for that period). Apparently if she is full she will eat another meal but will only keep it down until I leave the house. Then when she figures out she gained a pound she stops eating. She can be a real pain sometimes. So she didn't eat for another 36 hours and now I have her back on her old rations. Looks like it is time to up the tripe again! She'll be thrilled.....
