Today was quite the experience. My Mom brought me to my breeders to have my coat thinned out. I had what is known as "bubble butt" lol. after thinning I look much better. My Mom learned she has to spend more time on the hard areas. My coat is a "breeders dream" but very hard for my Mom to manage. So we will spend more time grooming using different tools... sigh.
Agility starts in 2 wks. I have been practicing 2x2 weave training and I really like it. Jumping is not so much fun, we will have to see how we do. Since I'm overweight, the heat really does me in and I don't like to perform when I'm hot. If I'm not having fun we might not continue. Time will tell.
The only problem with spring is it's wet. My Mom had me groomed and I am cut short to avoid muddy slippers. My new look actually makes me look thinner ... lol. My groomer is my agility trainer and we might have a mini session indoors before her field is ready. I look forward to seeing my old friends and having some fun and exercise. My Mom took me to a dog park in the city ... it was awesome. I met every breed imaginable ... I like the little ones best but I was brave when the big dogs came up to me. My best friend is still my little brother Argus. He is a lot bigger than me but I can hold my own and occasionally get him on his back ... I love that. My favourite game is tug of war with him. My Mom doesn't like when he slobbers all over me ... my mane is a mess then. Looking forward to Agility in May .. talk to you then.
I am finished Agility for this year. We had lots of fun and look forward to next spring when I can go with my little brother, Argus, he will be old enough by then. Argus will be good at Agility because he can jump a lot higher than me. I think I can teach him a few tricks though, because I am better at obedience.
I really like Winter best, not so hot when we are walking, except sometimes my little feet get a little cold. My Mom doesn't seem to mind when I want to go back home. She seems to like the snow fences my Dad has for me in the backyard because I can't get out. I'm not sure what her problem is, I'm a big boy now and I know where I live, so wouldn't dream of leaving my backyard ... except if Chloe, the chocalate lab called me over .. maybe then ...
