Well, my mom is out of school for the summer so we have been spending more time chasing squirrels at the local park and hanging out with our furfriends at the paw park.
We are going to start volunteering in June at a local shelter as a Therapy Team in June and we will be representing Best Friends of Pets at some fun summer events.
I have also been spending more time perfecting my barking and protection skills. Whenever I hear the doorbell ring, even if it is on the T.V., I dash to front door while barking up a storm. Those who are faint of heart should beware of my intimidating presence if they choose to enter MY home.
I have also honed my bodyguard skills with my mommy. Anytime I am sitting on my mommy's lap and another doggie tries to approach her for a pet, I give that dog a swift growl and snap to let him or her know that this is MY mommy and her affection is for ME and ME only. I am her number one pooch and nobody gets close without a stern talking to.
Well, it's late. I am getting ready to watch tonight's episode of the Dog Whisperer so I am going to end today's entry and curl up in bed with a good blanket and bone and veg out to Cesar Milan.
As my mommy says to me everynight, "goodnight sweets."
Love Jasmine

It is official! My mom and I finally passed our Animal Assisted Therapy team certification. My was so proud of me, she let me celebrate with extra special food treats and park visits for two days.
I am so glad all of my hard work paid off and made my mommy do proud of me.

Yesterday, mom and I wet to the front yard and found our neighbor's granddaughter looking for her yorkie pup named, "Huck." We scoured our backyard, thinking Huck had crawled under the fence. We walked around calling his name in the neighborhood to no avail. Finally, mom asked me to look for Huck and not even ten minutes later, I sniffed him out.
Huck had been galavanting in the opposites neighbor's yard, completely oblivious to all of our shouting and carrying on. He is a little guy and still a pretty young pup which explains his teenage disobedience. Once I corralled him and brought him out to his owners, I gave him a good talking to.
The neighbors were terribly worried they had lost him and were so grateful when I found him. My mom was so pleased and impressed by my good samaritan deed that I got an extra bowl of jerky treats.
I am glad I don't have puppies to raise anymore. Children can be such a pain, especially when they are in their terrible teens. Kids just can't apprecite what a good life they have with their owners. I have free reign of my indoor house, an entire backyard with many creatures, trees and odors, an entire neighborhood to mark, great food and excellent treats. Best of all, I get to sleep with my mom in her cozy be every night!
Add some dog park visits, car rides, Petsmart visits and long walks at the lake, I am pretty well convinced that I have got it made.

So today was my first Thanksgiving in my new home and my first real family holiday meal.
My mom stayed up until 4 am cooking last night while I supervised.
This afternoon, my mom, grandma, grandpa, cat sister and cat brothers celebrated Thanksgiving dineer together. My cat brothers and sisters got a special canned cat food meal and I got a fabulous, real, live butcher bone.
I spent the entire evening chomping away in ecstasy before passing out from gorging myself on bone marrow.
What a great day today has been. I hope every holiday is as good as this one. I can't wait to find out what mom has planned for us for Christmas. Hopefully, I'll get a bone just as tasty!

So my mom has been really busy lately. Its a bummer. I have had to stay home with the cats and my grandpa a lot more lately. I love them but I really miss my mom when she isn't home.
I think she is going to have some time off at Thanksgiving and Christmas but she wants to go visit her nephew (my human cousin).
She's not sure whether she should take me with her because she thinks it may be too stressful. I have never flown on a plane before and we have to fly all the way to Washington, D.C. Then we will stay with my uncle, auntie and my cousin who I have never met before. My mom is scared the trip may be too much for me to handle a long plane trip with no potty breaks, a 2 year-old little boy and a back porch with no grass.
On the other hand, she says that they live near Eastern Market, a fabulous doggie walking neighborhood with a nice doggie park . The neighborhood has some very quaint shopping and eating. Mom's favorite store is Chateau Animaux-an upscale puppy & kitty specialty store. She also loves Bread & Chocolate- a bistro, pastry shop with the best french toast and friut EVER.
Oh well, I think I'll just take a nap and leave the details to mom like I usually do.

THE BELLA FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES FIRST LOCAL
FUNDRAISING EVENT
Oklahoma City, OK June 14, 2007- The Bella Foundation, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit
organization created to assist elderly, low-income or terminally ill pet owners with the cost of
veterinary care announces it’s first fund raising event called “A Dog Walk in the Park”
The event will be held Saturday, September 15, 2007 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at Duffner Park
(corner of Hefner and May in The Village). Master of Ceremonies will be Cherokee Ballard of
KFOR News Channel 4. Activities will include a 1.5-mile walk to raise funds for the organization,
a vendor fair focusing on animals, a pet adoption drive sponsored by the Oklahoma City Animal
Shelter, vaccination and micro-chipping campaign provided by Neel Animal Hospital and many
other fun events.
The Bella Foundation President and co-founder stated, “Every year thousands of pets do not
receive proper veterinary care because their owners cannot afford it. To think of the countless
number of people faced with the knowledge their beloved pet is sick and treatment is financially
out of reach breaks our hearts. The Bella Foundation believes every animal deserves the best
treatment possible regardless of the owner’s ability to pay. All we ask in return is that if help is
given, and the owner is able, they volunteer 8 hours of their time at the Oklahoma City Animal
Shelter ” The Bella Foundation also requires that every animal receiving financial aid must be
spayed/neutered and micro chipped. “If we can keep animals at home and healthy they won’t
end up in the already overburdened shelter system or on the street”, says McCune.
If you would like to be a part of “A Dog Walk in the Park” or would like to volunteer, please visit
The Bella Foundation website at www.thebellafoundation.org and click on “Upcoming Events”.
If you would like to donate, you can also do so through their website using Pay Pal or you may
send a check or money order to 2501 Ashley Drive, Oklahoma City, OK 73120. Every dollar
raised helps a little heart beat stronger.

So we didn't pass the first time around but our evaluators were extremely impressed with how quickly my mom and I have learned in just 2 an1/2 short months of training.
They said we should pass with flying colors the next time around.
Either way, I love going to training classes with my other therapy dog buddies an their handlers.
Mom an I are just having too much fun learning all these new tricks and skills together, so it's all good.

There is a dubious litter of skunks freeloading in our neighborhood and I plan to eradicate them. The only problem is that my mom won't let me off leash anywhere near the family. She's afraid they will spray me and then I will proceed to do my zoomies all over the house and in her bed. I don't think they smell that bad. They are not nearly as stinky as that new shampoo she gave me a bath with yesterday. YUCK!
