In loving Memory
gone but never forgottenMay 16th 2007 5:52 pm[ Leave A Comment ] This dog was given to us after we lost our Cane Corso to cancer. He was just a 9 month old puppy but he was huge. AS big as he was we never dreamed he was an inside dog. So for a couple month's he sleep on a blanket in the garage. We didn't know he was discontent outside, we thought he was a playful Bulldog. He dug up the back yard, pulled up all the flowers, carried the firewood all over the yard and refused to be contained, even with an electric collar. He would jump the 4 foot fence, swim to lake and jump our daughters fence and go in her back door. He could jump nearly four feet high straight up with all 4 legs off the ground. He was the talk of the neighborhood, the more you would clap for him the higher he jumped. I found a strange man with a video recorder sitting beside my driveway one day. When I asked him if I could help him , he said he came to film the Bulldog. So I clapped, he jumped, the man filmed him and left. He was a very special dog,as you can see in the pictures. He truly loved his Daddy. His Daddy was a cancer patient and the dog cried every week when he had to take the injection. He went on the campaign trail for our Sheriff here in POLK Co. He wore an extra large shirt which read Grady Judd for Sheriff. He spent 4 hours walking around the lake while all the fireworks were going off and all the candidates gave out brochures and candy to the kids. When my daughter brought him home that night he had glow in the dark necklaces lined up on his neck, bracelets on his legs. The children at the party had given up all their goodies to him. Well one day it was 90 in the shade and he was laying at the back door with all 4 feet in the air and his tongue hanging out on the deck floor. I said come on boy lets go in for a while. He was a perfect gentleman, laid on a rug and behaved hinself, the next day he was waiting at the door again, so once more couldn't hurt. After the third day, i just got him a big body pillow and he never stayed outside again. After that when he went to do his business, he didn't jump the fence, he didn't dig the yard or pull up the flowers, he was now truly content. He was one wonderful dog and will never be forgotten. A Bulldog with the right raising and plenty of love makes a wonderful pet and a great protector.
