Arrival Story:
I was searching petfinder one night and came across Beauty's page. She was the right size and personality type, so had to meet her the next day at Spokanimal in Spokane, WA. Met her and loved her, but had no money for adoption fee. A friend of mine called the Shelter and paid the adoption for me the next day. So, she told me to go down and get my dog. I was so excited!

Bio:
Beauty has finished her training to be my Service Dog. Some minor things to work on, but she is a wonderful Service Dog. She really enjoys working and service dogs are always working on their skills anyway. Beauty is now 90 lbs. She was quite underweight when she was adopted from Spokanimal in May '07, but this was due to the fact she was found as a stray. Beauty was certified by independent trainer, Katrina Jablonsky on July 17th, 2012.

The Story of Amazon Beauty

The Story of the Corn Cob

Here I am not knowing exactly what happened. All I remember that I am very ill, just couldn't eat. My mom is worried about me. She is making a bunch of phone calls and sending emails. Talking about me and my illness. She tells me I am seeing the vet and he will make me better. She has me, my sister JC, and mom's little person get in the car.

The first stop is to drop off her little person at a lady's house. Telling her son, "here we are at your friend's house and you can go play with you friend". Then we go to town. We first stop at a small building. Mom leaves me in the car, as she and JC go in the building. They return shortly. Mom tells me we are now going to see the vet.

We drive some more and we stop at another small building. This time she leaves JC and takes me in, WOO HOO! Been a long time since she took me anywhere. I am excited, despite not feeling well. We walk in and the lady behind a wall tells mom, this must be Amazon? Mom corrects her and says her call name is Beauty. The lady takes mom and me to a small room. We wait a few minutes and a man comes in and talks to mom briefly. The man comes over to check me out. I stand up nicely, so I can say hi. He feels my tummy and tells mom, "that's what I thought, something is blocking the intestines." He shows mom a shape like a tennis ball with his hands. Telling her that's how big it is. After he leaves, mom sits there and cries holding my face. A nice lady comes in and takes me through the door where the vet went through. They take something red out of my leg through a tube. Then they put a needle in me and I fall asleep. I wake up my tummy doesn't hurt, but I can't think or move right. Then I hear mom's voice. I stand up looking for lovings. Mom hugs and loves me and tells me that I am staying the night. She tells me to stop eating things that aren't edible. She tells me that they took out a corn cob out of my tummy. So that was why I hurting in my tummy, as I don't neccessarily remember that I ate it.

I wake up the next morning, feeling much better. Still in pain, but not like it was and I can think better too. Mom comes soon and picks me up. She takes me in to see the vet real quick. The vet gave her a couple cans of food and tells her to feed me that. We got home, she fed me lunch that can food was so delicious. I wanted more, but mom tells me that the vet said only 1/4 of a can 3 times daily.

Here it is a couple days later, back on my old food. Missing that delicious can food. I want to play, but mom won't let me. A couple kids came over asking to say hi to me. They love the fact I am so friendly and big. Now I drift off, but ansty to get back to my old life.
