Final Farewell

Susan: I had hoped to acknowledge each friend for their support. Starry had more friends than she realized, while she was on this earth. Now that she is running free, she knows them all. I loved kissing that long nose. She had an unusually long nose, even for her breed. I was with her, kissing that beautiful nose, longer than necessary for her, but not for me. She was never as selfish as me. My dear husband was out in the hall, pacing, with tears in his eyes, unable to be by her side. He loved her so. Today I teased him because of that. I called him a little girl. He laughed out loud. This is the way he and I live. Our sense of humor may be strange, but it is how we cope. (grin) My husband and I took Penny and Jasper for a walk today. They just don't have her class. (smile) But neither do we.
I love my beautiful Dogster friends, more than you can ever know.
XOXO,
Susan

I am an angel. Well, I always was.
Susan: We laid our baby to rest this morning. My husband and I knew it was time. I will miss my girl.
Right now it is hard to type.
God Bless our friends

No Good news, But No Bad News Either

I am resting on my pillows, and Mommy is next to me on the computer.
Susan: Star sleeps so much, I have unlimited computer time. We are still waiting for all of these medications to perform a miracle. I love you people! It is a wonderful thing to be retired, and be able to attend to her needs. I deeply appreciate all the love she has given us.

I was born a noble being. I most certainly agree. Just look at how I've carried myself all these years. Look at my "Roman" profile. I was the family "Escort" until recently. Whenever any family member would go to the garage, to do laundry, I would walk beside them. When they were finished, I would escort them back into the house. This routine kept me very busy when my three furless sister's lived at home. Multiple escorting jobs every day. My Daddy called me the "Escort." For 13 years I have protected them. Now they must watch over me.
Susan: She has done her best to be a good girl. Never mind that she doesn't really like other dogs and puppies. She is not a dog. She tells me every day.

Homemade Meals

Chicken, rice, and a dab of olive oil. I am so thin. I'm not eating treats anymore. I do appreciate ear rubs and pets. And my Dogster friends support. I love all people. Of course I painstakingly separate every morsel of chicken and devour it first. Then I stare at the inedible rice. As a puppy, I was offered a chicken strip. With my scissors bite I carefully cut around the entire strip. Watching this was agony for Mommy. It took several minutes. I pulled out the edible chicken meat, leaving the fried carcass behind.
Susan: Exasperating indeed! I want to put meat on her tiny skeleton.

Trying To Address Most Of My Problems

Mommy knew there were other things going on besides heart failure. I have a massive infection, my white blood cell count was really high. We are hoping the antibiotics and vitamins will do their job, along with the heart meds and eye ointment.
I am being such a good girl, taking all of my medications. Although it is difficult to consume vitamin laden food. I spend a considerable amount of time contemplating whether or not to bother at all.
I am resting on my pillows.
Susan: We will be patient, and hopefully my girl will feel better in a few weeks. She has lost a lot of weight, down to 39 pounds, from 46. Her weight as a young dog was 48 pounds.
We love you.

Waiting for Results

We will see what the blood tests reveal. This new and excellent heart medication isn't helping much. I've stopped wagging my tail, so Mommy and Daddy wanted to address any other conditions I may have. They want to relieve as much discomfort as possible.
I am just tired.
I love my friends!

A Second Opinion

Daddy and Mommy felt it was necessary to seek a second opinion for me. I have antibacterial eye drops now. Hopefully that will help the tearing. It looks like I may have a tumor under my toenail. He will have my blood work results tomorrow. He did say that the heart medication was new and excellent, and we are continuing it. I just want to sleep. Mommy will keep you posted.
XOXO,
Starry
