Fireworks & Me Do NOT Mix!

Well, as I learned last night, I do not like fireworks! Mom and Dad took Princess and I to the Lyon Oaks off-leash dog park where we had such a good time. We went pretty late so we didn't get to stay long, but we were tired anyway. We made lots of friends - especially another little bichon named Abby. So mom and dad took us with them to watch the fireworks off of Wolverine Lake. Well, as we were walking towards the lake, a test firework went off and I was scared to death! I DID NOT want to keep walking that way AT ALL and my tail was in between my legs forever. So, mom decided to have us all sit in the back of dad's truck and see how that went. Well, the test fireworks were still too loud and eventually we went in dad's truck with the windows up and the A/C on and we were fine. Only thing was, was that mom and dad had to see the fireworks through trees! I was interested in the colors I was seeing in the sky, but Princess could have cared less!

Mom's Surgery

Well, mom had surgery on the 30th. (She had her tonsils removed, uvela removed, soft pallet in my throat, cartlidge in my nose removed, and diseased sinus tissue removed too.) She has NOT been feeling well!

Grandma Spurrier has been here helping take care of us and mom. She fed us, gave us our medicines, brushed us out, took us outside to potty and walk, and every other thing we needed. Dad still did his usual help too.

Mom had an extra rough night Monday night/Tuesday morning and dad and grandma took mom to the ER. When she got home Princess and I were going crazy to see her! Mom wanted to sleep in the bedroom so that we couldn't jump up onto her face (not know it would hurt so much). Well, Princess and I kept running into the door tyring to push it in and then scratching, whining, barking. Grandma put me in the bathroom for awhile, but that didn't work well. Later they put up a baracade between the hall doorway to prevent us from getting to the bedroom door. Well, Princess kept jumping it. It was litterally well over four feet tall and she still kept jumping it. Yikes!

At night mom has to sleep on the couch and we sleep with dad in the bedroom. We have to be real careful coming out in the morning all excited to see mom when we like to see who can jump the highest and get in mom's face to give her kisses. Mom should be better real soon though!

Friday night was fun! Mom and dad took Princess and I to the drive in to see Shrek the Third. We were all really tired when we got back home at 1:00 a.m., but I still had mom up at 7:00.

Saturday mom took Princess and I to the vet to get our urine checked to see if we are any better and then we picked up some breakfast. Dad drove us to the Mutt March where the dogs got to meet LOTS of other dogs and people! It was great. We got to see some bigger dogs jumping into the pool after toys. Mom got some information on the Dog Scouts of America and is going to check it out. She also signed-up to see a pet physic. We also had charicachers (spelling) done. Princess was filmed by a local public channel. She'll be a star! I also got a free frisbee to chew on. Then we all went to Petsmart where mom says she spent too much money. We came home, we took a short nap together! Weekends are the best!
