I was left in the night drop box at Berkeley Animal Care Services with no notes or tags. No one called looking for me. It was the so scary! But, it led me to my furever family so I know it was worth it.

My daddy wanted a dog for a long time and he really is a dog person. My mommy got bit by a dog when she was a little girl and she was only comfortable around dogs she knows well or dogs that show no aggressive behavior and are not too jumpy. So, they had been negotiating a dog for many months.

They would periodically go to the local animal shelters to get an idea of what they both liked and had agreed not to do anything before the summer of 2007 but on Saturday, 3/3/07, they saw me at the animal shelter. I was the first dog they both really liked, BUT, there was an 5 day waiting period so I wouldn't be up for adoption for a few days so they couldn't even take me out of the kennel.

Daddy went back to see me on Tuesday, 3/6/07 and it was fate. The Humane Society was literally walking out the door with me to "adopt" me. Daddy spoke with them and expressed interest but said that mom had to meet me before they could commit. They saw the logic in this and they were very willing to wait a day to see if I was adopted and if not they would take me the next day. I knew there was something special about my Daddy so I passed the temperament test with the highest marks possible. :0)

Daddy called mommy to let me know the situation and said that we had a real connection. Mom was in San Jose for the day but her boss was nice enough to let her leave at early to get to the shelter before they closed at 4:00.

We literally fell in love. Mom and Dad signed the papers and paid my adoption fee on Tuesday, 3/6/07 . I had to be spayed so they couldn't take me home until the next night. They picked me up from the vet on Wednesday, 3/7/07 around 6pm and took me home. I was a little groggy and the anesthesia made me get sick on my new bed but they didn't even get mad at me. They just cuddled me and helped me know that I was safe and loved.

Our lives will never be the same and we couldn't be happier.
