My visit with the dentist

Well, yesterday I had another experience - I am not quite sure whether it was good or bad but I can tell you this. I did not like being left with the strange person in the doctor's office. She took me from my mom's arms and put me in a room and took some blood so they could see if everything was ok to take my teeth out and clean them.

When my dad came for me I was sure glad to see him. You see I don't like cages very much since I lived in one for 7 yrs. When I got home I played with all my friends there. I even went to my dad and got him to play with me. I gave lots of kisses too!

When mom got home I was ready to eat - I couldn't eat before the surgery but I sure did eat supper. I love to eat! I had a good night's sleep and I got to go out and play in the snow today. Now I am napping on my bed. I think my teeth are all clean too so I should be able to have some chew bones soon.

Well, you can see by my newest pictures I was trying on my costume...a kitchen towel. I look adorable in anything - wouldn't you agree?

Well, after being a puppy for awhile now I am a big dog. I can howl and we (my friends and I) get to sing every night. Dad gets to howling and we join in for the fun.

I have mastered the toy box and if it is not down (see I am sort of short) so I can reach it I will bark until someone comes and puts it down so I can reach my favorite toys.

I walk on a lead really well now, I don't try walking underfoot and tripping you.

I love to ride in the car. Actually after we come back for a few days I will run to the front of the house so I can look to see if a car is in the driveway. I think I like those car rides except when I have to go to the doctor. That is still a little scary.

I also like being a big dog....I bluff the others to get their doggie treats.....

I really love the blanket and pillow that is mine in the livingroom. No one better lay on that while I am getting my drink or going potty outside cuz when I get back I will let them know it is mine!

Puppyhood

Well, as a 7 yo puppy I learned a lot about life and what I missed out on. See, being a puppymill dog you don't get to learn much except to have puppies and puppies, and puppies, etc. I didn't get to learn how to really live until last year when I was rescued and I mean rescued. Anything is better than living in a small cramped cage wire all over. No nice place to lay down. Nothing soft, I was always dirty except when they came and sprayed the cages down.

When I first got to my foster home (now my real home) it was cold outside but warm inside. They washed me and I smelled good, I still like to smell good and be clean. I didn't know much about the grass but it sort of tickled my feet. I did really good by going potty there. I would go up to this house and look through the lattice I remember that where I lived in those cages all the time but there wasn't any other dogs there.

Now, I just go and play in the yard I am not looking for the other dogs in those holes. I know that my playmates Spike, Shadow and now Boomer all live in the house with me.

Ahhh, being a puppy was great fun learning to play and run and grow.
