HOW IT CAME TO BE

I adopted my dog from my local shelter...
I had a dog when I was a young girl, and was very fond of having such a loyal companion.
When I was in high school she passed on...After she died I was unsure if I would ever get another dog again...It took many years...actually almost 20 years... to decide to get another dog.

I visited my local shelter weekly, I had many met and greets with potential dogs... I wasn't connecting with any of them... I began to get discouraged.
I decided to give the idea a rest for a while.
Then just before Mother's Day. I decided to look again. While I was atthe shelter a black Labrador/Pitbull mix was dropped off.
I saw him enter the shelter and remember seeing a look of confusion on his face. I knew at that moment he was the one for me... Now the question....was Am I the right human for him..?
I applied for his adoption immediatley.
We met the following week, and instantly connected. He chose me!

While his past remains a mystery, I think I am the lucky one!
There's such a sweetness to him. There's just such a kindness to him

This story is to hopefully encourage others to adopt from shelters as a first option..

A dog is a wonderful being who will love you like no one else..
Completeley unconditionally.. Which in the end, is what it is all about.
