Getting her stomach and chest scratched

Being tied on!

Favorite Toy:
Ground hogs. She catches them and only eats off the four legs and ears.

Favorite Food:

Favorite Walk:
On our hay field, by the ground hog holes

Best Tricks:
Being friendly. Sitting on my feet. Although I guess those aren't tricks....

Arrival Story:
I was 14, and I love all animals. Our neighbours breed Golden Retrievers, so when they had some more puppies, I went out, got the money from my bank account [without my parents knowing] ran over to their place and brought Kira home. My parents [well actually my mom, my dad was ok with it] weren't that pleased but it makes me love her all the more.

She is a yellowish-lightish dog, and very large for a golden retriever. Big paws. She also has pretty long hair. She absolutely adores running and she loves being free! Her energy also never tapers.

Hi everybody, once again!

A while back I was spayed. I felt really sick after that, and because I felt like I would throw up after everything I wouldn't even eat the small round pills that Mom tried giving me. She told me that it would make me feel better but I really really didn't want to eat.

I finally took them and then Mom wished I hadn't because I felt a lot better and I wanted to run again!

Three days later Mom and her family left me... she said they were going on an airplane, but they were only staying away for one week. I went to our neighbours', who have two Goldens, too, and lots of horses and cats and cows. It was fun! Although I wasn't let run loose I was in a large box-stall with fresh straw [I love straw!] and I was allowed two walks a day.

Finally Mom came back! I missed her so bad, and near the end of the week I was always barking for her. Then the day after Mom took me to the vet again... and I ran in because I remembered all the nice people from before- and I got my stitches out! It didn't hurt at all, only tickled a bit.

Now life is good again... Mom doesn't worry about me having any more pups [hehe] and although I'm tied up all day because I'm not allowed to go in the gardens, Mom always takes me for a long run to the barn where I stayed and to the creek. I love water and lucky for me, Mom does too! She doesn't mind when I spray her.

A week ago I was in a horses' pen with mom and the horse started chasing me... I was so scared and I ran so fast but the horse stayed behind me the WHOLE time. After I ducked under the fence and Mom caught the bad horse, Mom laughed so hard and she said she was scared but that the horse was only scaring me, he wouldn't hurt me. Now I stay away from horses!

Now Mom doesnt' take me out as much as she used to... and we don't go to the farm. She said she is busy with a exam piano or something like that, and she has to practice and practice. But she said after Wednesday I get to swim again! It isn't very hot here at all, only the sun, and there is always a cool breeze, but I still love swimming.

Have to go!

Kira is getting spayed on May 15th! Yay- finally!
Main reason was I kept on bugging my mom. And she kept on making excuses-
her: "But we have new vehicles, and we're not putting a stinky dog in there"
me- "Then I'll get a taxi."
Her: "Well I don't always want to do things for you when you never work for me"
Me: "Then I'll book the appointment."
Her: "Never mind..."

Soo, it came about that she Finally made an appointment. Only thing is.... she chose the cheapest, where they didn't do any blood tests or anything, which I wanted. Oh well, though. I guess I should be thankful!

I'll tell y'all how it goes. I'm praying everything is ok!

I believe I'm beholden to an update on Kira!

October 31st, Kira had 10 perfectly-formed, adorable golden puppies. The Friday after, the little runt died. May he rest in golden peace.

Well, they were all perfect health, growing up. I sold the second last one last week, the trouble-maker of a female. I really miss her. But my favourite bud is still here. My dad thinks I should keep her but my mom hates dogs so I don't think I should. I haven't advertised for him but there are people who'd want him anyway.

Kira gained a lot more weight. When she had the pups, it seemed like she was all skin and bones, even though she constantly had a dish filled with dog food. I owe her one, for leaving behind her pups and daily coming with me to work with the horses.

She's adorable, as always, and almost got kicked by a Shire today. Her energy had to be put into running in between the horse's legs. However, she got away fine, smart dog as she is, and I had to stick her in an empty stall for the remainder of my day.

About a year ago, '06, she'd gotten hit by a truck and she'd had a limp till 6 months after, as my mother didn't take to me taking her to the vet. Things have changed. I've stood up for Kira, and she gets the best medical attention now. Her leg is healed all up, and, admittedly for me, I have no clue which leg it ever was.

Better run now. I'll see about more updates later on!
