Arrival Story: I had been looking every day (sometimes more than once a day) on Petfinder.com for the right dog for our family. I had seen numerous dogs that looked promising, but for some reason or another it wouldn't work out. I had been looking for a Wheaten or something similair in looks to a Wheaten, and I preferred a young dog. When I saw Rubi, I contacted the rescue organization right away. They told me that she was in the process of being adopted, so I was a little bummed, but I figured that it just wasn't meant to be. Then I decided to contact the rescue group about a week later to see what had happened to Rubi, and I found out that the other couple had decided to adopt another dog. I was elated and contacted the foster mom the very next morning and went to see her that same day. I loved her and brought her home....

Bio: I have since learned that she was a turn-in at the Coachella Valley Animal Shelter and had been there for six days when she was rescued. She had kennel cough at the time and was starting to get a little matted, so the lady who rescued her took her to the vet and had her groomed. What a nice lady!! She then was taken to her next foster hom where she stayed for ten days until we made her a permanent part of our family.
